Juanita Kohlmeyer, 85, joined her Lord on Saturday, October 1, 2016 after a long and courageous battle with cancer. She had been under the care of Hospice of the Red River Valley and Eventide Nursing Home. Juanita was born August 2, 1931 in Caledonia, Minnesota to Albert and Luella (Busitsky) Schroeder. Juanita was the oldest of four children. She received her high school diploma from Cornell Public Schools in Cornell, WI. After receiving a certificate for accounting from Western Wisconsin Technical Institute she worked as a bookkeeper for Badger Corrugating of LaCrosse, Wisconsin. Juanita dedicated her life to raising her five children and creating a loving home for her family. She was fortunate to help raise five of her 10 grandchildren while serving in the capacity of day care provider. Juanita loved animals, reading, embroidery, and watching sports. She was an unwavering Greenbay Packer and Milwaukee Brewers fan. Juanita leaves behind her daughters, Glenda Lee of West Salem, WI; Nancy (Lloyd) Gjovik of Pekin, ND; Janet (Jim) Itnyre of Stoddard, WI; Diane (Tom) Greene of Monroe, MI; and son Lance (Deb) Kohlmeyer of Fargo, ND; brother, Dr. Leland (Kathy) Schroeder of Liverpool, NY; grandchildren, Michelle (Mark) Hayes, Kristie (Andrew) Estervig; Anna Lisa Gjovik, Craig (Jenny) Gjovik, Kaare (Rebeca) Gjovik; Christopher (Beth) Itnyre, Jonathan (Brittany) Itnyre; Heather (Marshall) Maseberg, Tavis Greene; Trent Kohlmeyer, and Nicole (Matt) Lewis; and great-grandchildren, Madisyn, Natalie, and Kylee Hayes; Elise and Eden Estervig; Abby and Kelsie Gjovik; Kennedy, Kelby, and Keegen Gjovik; and many nieces and nephews. Juanita was preceded in death by her parents, Albert and Luella (Busitsky) Schroeder; brother Dr. Kermit Schroeder and his wife Betty; and sister Delorse Newburg and her husband Arlan. A Celebration of Life service will be held at 10:30 AM on Friday, October 7, 2016 at Boulger Funeral Home and Celebration of Life Center, Fargo, ND. Burial in the Sheyenne Lutheran Cemetery of rural Pekin, ND will take place that afternoon.
