Judith Marie Peterson

Judith Marie Peterson, née Haseleu, passed away at the Sanford Hospice House on March 30th, 2023, at 79 years old.
Judy was born on September 12th, 1943, in Valley City, North Dakota. She taught elementary school at Sanborn and Kathryn, helping many young minds develop and flourish. Within her extended family she was a renowned hostess and cook. With her passing many beloved recipes she could only describe as “a little of this and some of that” go with her. While she was known as a stellar cook and baker, Judy was even better known for her wit and humor that frequently left her company in stitches. Even at the end her doctors and nurses described her as “sharp” and “feisty”.
She is survived by her husband of 58 years Gayron Peterson of Valley City, ND, her two children, Kirk (Laura) Peterson of Valley City, ND and Kari (Mitch) Lyter of Casselton, ND, her sister Annette Croves of West Fargo, ND, her beloved grandchildren Amelia and Aiden Lyter, her nieces Morgan Croves and Britten (Adam Rice) Croves of West Fargo, ND, along with many members of her extended family. Judy was preceded in death by her parents Arzelle and Walter Haseleu.
A private service is being held for the immediate family. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to a charity close to your heart.
