Karen J. (Olson) Ledbetter, 56, Fargo, passed away Friday, July 19, 2013 at Sanford Hospital surrounded by family and friends.

Karen was born August 10, 1956 in Drayton, North Dakota to Orville and Cecilia Olson.  She grew up in Bathgate, North Dakota until 1969 when her family moved to Fargo.  Karen graduated from Northwest Technical College with a Legal Administrative Secretary degree.  Karen moved to California in 1984 where she worked as a real estate agent before returning to North Dakota in 1989.  On November 26, 2002 Karen married Monroe Ledbetter.  In 2003 she moved to Minot until she lost her home in the 2011 Minot flood.  She returned to Fargo in 2011.

Karen most recently owned and operated Cattleman’s Café in Minot, North Dakota retiring in 2011. 

Her greatest joy was spending time with family and friends.  She enjoyed camping, puzzles, movies, and cooking.

She is survived by her husband, Monroe; mother, Cecilia Emerson; children, Shamarie Olson (Neil Englund), Marian Jasinski (Dustin Strenke), Sara Olson, Eric Atkinson (Andi Goldizen), Chantal Steinkuehler (Eric Kukert); grandchildren, Daryn Hibberds, Dustyn Hibberds, Cambrya Englund, Arya Englund, Drake Jasinski, Issabella Strenke, Alexis Lean, Stone Lean, Brianna Olson, Raynemarie Olson, Macaidyn Hiller, Elegance Hiller, Damon Atkinson, Devin Atkinson, and soon to be born Dallas Atkinson and Zeller Kukert;  great-grandchild, Logyn Hibberds; siblings, Larry Olson, Tony Olson, Carol Stockstad; and many beloved nieces and nephews.

Karen was preceded in death by Orville Olson, grandparents, Nettie Olson, Ole Olson, Marie Olson, Willard Olson, and Leo Emerson.
