Katherine “Katie” Anne Kaspari died peacefully on Friday, June 19, 2026, at the Sanford Hospice House in Fargo, North Dakota, surrounded by family and friends. She passed away on the sixth anniversary of her liver transplant.

Katherine was born on October 29, 1988, to Jon and Brenda (Anderson) Kaspari. She was welcomed by her two older sisters, Andrea and Leah. Katie was raised in Fargo and Hickson, North Dakota.

Katherine graduated from Woodrow Wilson High School in 2006. After graduation, she attended the University of North Dakota. After one year, however, Montana was calling, and Katherine moved to Bozeman with friends to continue her education at Montana State University. Katie loved Bozeman and especially loved snowboarding. She spent countless hours on the slopes and hiking with her beloved black Lab, Alfie.

Eventually, the real world called, and Katie returned to Fargo. She worked for a variety of businesses before finding her niche at Sanford Health, where she enjoyed both her coworkers and her patients. Katie greeted everyone with a warm smile. She also returned to school, taking classes through the University of North Dakota.

In 2019, Katherine was diagnosed with liver disease and received a successful liver transplant on June 19, 2020. She was blessed with five full and wonderful years. In June of 2025, her liver began to fail again. Katie and her family sought a second liver transplant. Throughout her journey, Katherine remained hopeful and optimistic, facing every challenge with unwavering courage, grace and a strong faith in God.

Katherine truly loved life and embraced it fully. Whether she was riding her beloved horses, relaxing at the family lake home, or spending time on the boat in Florida, she found joy in every moment. Katie was happiest when surrounded by family and friends. Her infectious smile and kind spirit made lasting connections wherever she went.

Katie leaves behind her mother, Brenda; her sisters, Andrea (Matt) Gadberry and Leah (Tom Kemmer) Kaspari; and her nieces and nephews, Jack, Isabelle, Lola, Cash, and Rex. She will also be deeply missed by many aunts, uncles, cousins, and a wonderful circle of friends. She leaves behind her loyal dog, Marty, who was always by her side.

Katherine was preceded in death by her father, Jon; her maternal grandparents, Bob and Addie Anderson; her paternal grandparents, Dave and Sally Kaspari; her uncle, Mike Kaspari; and her special great-uncle and great-aunt, Bob and Marilyn Selkirk.

Words cannot express the void felt by all who loved Katie. May the wonderful memories she created bring comfort to everyone whose life she touched.

Fly high, Katie.
