Kathleen Breuer

Kathleen L. Breuer, 80, Bethany Homes, Fargo, formerly of Wyndmere, ND, died Wednesday, January 28, 2004, in Bethany Homes. Kathleen L. Bakken was born August 26, 1923, in Pelican Rapids, MN, the daughter of Carl and Hilda (Siedel) Bakken. As a young girl, she moved with her family to Wyndmere, ND. They lived on a farm east of Wyndmere. She grew up and attended school there. Kathleen was united in marriage to Alvin F. Breuer Sr. in August 1942 at Junction City, Kansas, while he was serving in the Army during World War II. She returned to Wyndmere, where she resided until he was discharged from the military. The couple then made their home in Wyndmere, where they have lived through the years. Mr. Breuer passed away in 1986. She continued to live there until moving to Fargo in 2003. She is survived by five children, DeEtta ?Dee? (Keith) Boulais, Mounds View, MN, Al (Karen) Breuer, Bismarck, ND, Karol (Jerry) Koppy, Tucson, AZ, Judith Breuer, Minneapolis, MN, and Pat (Curt) Decker, Dickinson, ND; 12 grandchildren; 21 great grandchildren; two sisters, Amy Larson, Moorhead, MN, and Vonnie (Mike) Rostad, West Fargo, ND; and one brother, Robert Bakken, Wichita, KA. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; three brothers, Lionel, Elroy, and Vernon; and two sisters, Muriel Mellem and Lois Peterson. A memorial service will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday in Boulger Funeral Home, Fargo. The family will meet with friends one hour prior to the service. Burial will be in Fort Snelling National Cemetery, Minneapolis, MN. In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred to Hospice of the Red River Valley. Arrangements by Boulger Funeral Home, Fargo.
