Kathleen Inman
March 27, 1922 ~ September 21, 2019
Kathleen Marie Inman, 97, of Moorhead, MN passed away Saturday, September 21, 2019, at Ecumen, Moorhead, MN. Celebration of her life will be held June of 2020 in Hurdsfield, ND, so all her loved ones can celebrate her life together.
Kathleen Marie Sacht was born March 27, 1922 to William Charles Sacht and Arlie Maude (Berger) Sacht in Clark Fork, Idaho.
Kathleen had two loving sisters and four loving brothers. Ramona (Monie), Laurayne (Toddie), Marlyn (Bud), Forrest, William (Bill) and Raymond (Shorty).
Mom lived in one of the most beautiful states in the country. Mountains, streams, and untouched territory. She would tell us stories of her swimming in the river, picking Huckleberries & Morel mushrooms and of her brothers fishing and hunting for their food. They had no running water or electricity and the boys had to sleep in the shed with the cats and of course a wood burner to keep them warm. It was a simple and wonderful time. She would tell us about the Indians coming down the mountain about once a month to trade their blankets and jewelry for food. They would let mom and her best friend ride their horses and they would play with the children. She had many wonderful memories of her childhood.
She met the love of her life, Fredrick, while babysitting his brother’s children. He had come from Hurdsfield, ND, to work in the Silver Mines. They were married January 6, 1942. They left Clark Fork, ID, in 1946 and moved to Hurdsfield, ND, where they stayed for 1 year and moved to Dundas, MN, to farm. In 1950 they gave up farming and moved to the Twin Cities. Dad retired in 1976 and they moved back to Hurdsfield, ND. Her loving husband passed away in 1978. She moved to Sabin, MN, in 1993 then Dilworth, MN, and moved into assisted living at Ecumen of Moorhead, MN, where she resided for the last 3 years. Her 1st priority was her children. She taught us to love, to care and to be kind. She will be forever in our hearts and greatly missed.
She is survived by her children: Irene (Sam) Woolf, Petersburg, VA; Donna Johnson, West Fargo, ND; David Inman, Kenyon, MN; Sharril (Mike) Smith, Plains, MT; Debra Inman, West Fargo, ND; 8 grandchildren: Michael Johnson, Michelle (John) Nelson, Kathleen (Mike) Fiskewold, David Inman, Christine Inman, Shawn (Debbie) Inman, Troy (Amber) Schmitt, Jessica (Mike) Nelson; 3 step-grandchildren: Christopher, Thomas, Dana; 15 great grandchildren; 2 step-great grandchildren; 2 great-great grandchildren.
Dear family, especially Donna and Debra …
I was saddened to read that your sweet mom had gone to her heavenly home. I held your mom very close to my heart. She was one of the people I always hoped would be at the table for supper when I came to visit/feed my own sweet mom. Your mom always had the sweetest hello and happy smile for me…perhaps even when she was feeling quite badly. What a treasure Kathleen Inman was. I was blessed to know her … and her daughters. God bless you all as you find your new normal in the weeks and months ahead…..
We enjoyed bringing the dogs to see her, she smiled when she saw them and enjoyed petting them. We will miss her. Mike,Deb, Katie and Henry
