Kathryn M. Finch, 96, Fargo, ND, died Friday, April 27, 2007 in Fargo. Kathryn Mary Moug was born October 25, 1910 in Cornell Township near Buffalo, ND. Her parents were John G. and Caroline (Woodrow) Moug. In 1922 she moved to Fargo with her parents and two sisters, Helen Briggs and Betty Brunelle. Her brother, Richard Moug was born in Fargo. She attended Sacred Heart Academy. Kathryn worked for the Manchester Biscuit Company in Fargo, earning a wage of $1.70 per day. Kathryn and Maynard Finch were married on December 28, 1935 at St. Mary?s Cathedral in Fargo. They had three daughters, Shirley Rumer, Carol (Lloyd) Stangeland, and Carman Clausen. Kathryn worked for the O. J. DeLendrecie Company until 1957 when she and her sister Helen opened a restaurant on 4th Street North in Fargo. In November 1960, Kathryn and Maynard moved to Alice, ND and operated a bar called ?The K and M Club? until 1984 when they retired and moved back to Fargo. Kathryn and Maynard were both active in the Fargo Area of the Fraternal Order of Eagles. They received awards of appreciation and honor for their dedication. Kathryn held the offices of Auxiliary president in 1945-46 and the first Madam Bi-State Auxiliary President in 1955. She was named Mrs. Eagle in March 1985. Maynard and Kathryn were named Mr. and Mrs. Eagle in June 1970, and were inducted into the Hall of Fame in 1982. Kathryn was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Maynard; her daughter, Shirley Rumer; a grandson, William Clausen; and her sisters, Helen Briggs and Betty Brunelle. Her daughters, Carol (Lloyd) Stangeland, Audubon, MN and Carmen Clausen, Brentford, SD; and her brother, Richard (Rosemary) Moug, Fargo, survive her. She is also survived by her grandchildren, Reneece (Jeff) Strand, Sioux Falls, SD, Julie (Jeff) Volk, Fargo, ND, Lynn (Marty) Rud, Fargo, ND, Jim (Gail) Stangeland, Mitchell, SD, Carrie (Rod) Hansen, Turton, SD, Mike (Vonda) Clausen, Newell, SD, Rob (Angela) Weddle, Champaign, IL; 17 great grandchildren; and 2 great great grandchildren.
