Kathryn Suzanne Kibler, 67, Fargo, ND passed away on Thursday, January 17, 2019 at her home. She was born on September 12, 1951 to Francis and Maybelle (Tuve) Kibler. Kathryn spent her early childhood in Moorhead, MN and then attended high school in Mayville, ND where she graduated with the class of 1969. She then attended Mayville State Teachers College earning her degree in 1972. Kathryn taught 2nd grade in Park River, ND for 32 years until her retirement in 2004. She had many students that would see her years afterward and talk to her about how she touched their lives at that age. Following her retirement, she was a caregiver to her mother who was suffering from Alzheimer’s. Kathryn had a strong faith and will be remembered for her kind and loving nature. She is survived by her brothers, Gary of Fargo; and Paul Sr. of Plymouth, MN; nephews, Paul Jr. (Abby) of Racine, WI; and Brian (Megan) of Fargo; nieces, Kristen (Terry) of Eden Prairie, MN; and Allison (Jesse) of West Fargo; and her beloved dogs, Sofie and Gypsy. She was preceded in death by her parents. There will be a memorial service at 10:00 AM on Saturday, February 2, 2019 at Boulger Funeral Home and Celebration of Life Center, Fargo with a visitation one hour prior.

  7. So very sad to hear of Kathy’s passing. I had such a fun visit with her on Tuesday afternoon. She had recently been to Mayville for visit, especially enjoying a stop at Soholt Bakery. She was looking forward to her high class reunion this summer. What a kind, sweet lady; she helped us all to be a better person.

  8. I got to know Kathy via our weekly gathering at Paradiso (usually Thursday evenings). She was always a ray of sunshine and was interested in our lives and health. I especially enjoyed hearing stories about her fur babies that were so special to her and also stories from her years as a teacher. She will be missed by so many people.

  11. I was sorry to hear about Kathy passing. Her and I have two very special dogs in our lives. She had two sisters of my two Shih thus. I only pray her dogs are being taken care of. If anyone knows their whereabouts, I would appreciate letting me know! Thank you!

  12. I met Kathy less than 2 years ago but I enjoyed her so much as a neighbor and friend. I will miss her and her girls popping over for quick visits. She was truly a kind and caring person. Rest In Peace Kathy

  19. I was in the first class Miss Kibler taught in Park River. She was so gentle and kind. What a wonderful teacher she was! I’m so glad she influenced so many classes of second graders. I’m so sorry to hear of her loss. The children in heaven will love being read to by her…Stuart Little, Charlotte’s Web were a few I remember hearing. She will be missed.

There wasn’t a child that went through our school that didn’t absolutely adore her. She was a fabulous teacher and an even better friend,. I have so many fond memories of time spent with Kibby. She will be missed by everyone who knew her. My thoughts and prayers are with you during this difficult time.

We never had the chance to get together lately, but just thinking of her great smile and wonderful laugh makes me sad I will not hear it again. She was my maid-of-honor back in 1990.   23. Miss Kibler was my 2nd grade teacher. I have many fun, specific memories from that year. I think she was most notable for her many art projects :), and I clearly remember her kindness and generosity.

  24. I remember how excited I was when I found out I was going to be in her class! She cared about me both in and outside of the classroom. Her bubbly laughter, joy, and kindness are engrained in my memory.

  25. Kathy was such a kind and caring person that shared Gods love with the children she taught and everyone else, we met here at Holiday Inn restaurant and often dined together. Happy home going Kathy.

  26. Sad to hear of Kathy’s passing. As a fellow teacher, I always enjoyed visiting with her about the education wars. She was also a treasured high school classmate.

  27. Kathy was a neighbor, special friend and fellow teacher. I had a long visit with her last year during the Christmas holidays. The news of her passing made me think of the fun we had playing yard games, her visits with my mother and me during summers in Mayville and her sweet smile and humble spirit. My prayers go out to her family at this sad time.

  31. We lived next door to Kathy and were blessed to have her as a neighbor. She always had a smile on her face and was so caring. Her “girls” were the light of her life.   33. I was saddened to read of Kathy’s recent death in the Fargo Forum. I remember her from our days playing together on South 7th in Moorhead. From reading the comments of others, it is obvious that Kathy touched many lives through her career and through her community friendships. I’m sure she will be missed by all who knew her.
