Born in: Cedar Falls, Iowa
Resided in: Fargo, North Dakota

Kenneth Joe Meester was born February 15, 1942, to William and Agnes Meester in Cedar Falls, Iowa, and went to be with his Lord on Wednesday, August 30th, at age 81.

Ken grew up on a farm as an only child. Since both his parents were deaf, sign language was his first language. He attended school in Wellsburg, Iowa and graduated in 1960. On September 14, 1963, he was married to the love of his life, Charlotte Lane. They had a daughter, Kendra, and a son, Brent. They moved to Moorhead, MN in 1977 and then to Fargo, ND in 1996. Ken was in the insurance business for 30 years. He then worked for Case-New Holland until his retirement. After only two weeks, he came out of retirement to drive a Fargo School bus route for the next 11 years where he was positive influence on many students. Ken and Charlotte enjoyed traveling to many places over the years including Spain, France, Italy, and many other places. They recently enjoyed traveling to Texas in the winters where they participated in leisure activities at their gated community.

Ken loved fishing, birdwatching, spending time at their lake home, hunting, and computers. He loved people, telling jokes, and spending time with their grandchildren. He was a wonderful father, grandfather, and great-grandfather and enjoyed spending time with them; his family was especially important to him. He enjoyed setting up monthly breakfasts for the Case-Holland retirees so he could stay connected with them.

He was a long-time member of Grace Covenant Church and served on several boards. Ken enjoyed organizing the annual church picnic and the monthly dinners.

He is survived by his wife, Charlotte, daughter Kendra (Ross) Nubson , and son Brent (Holly) Meester; grandchildren, Joey Manning, Jessica (Noah) Sperling, Alyssa Manning, Emily, Daniel, and Sarah Meester; step-grandchildren Zachary, Cole and Alysse Nubson, and step-great grandchild, Kyrie.
