Kirsten Volborth
September 28, 1983 ~ December 22, 2020
Kirsten Dorothea Volborth, 37, Fargo, passed away on Tuesday, Dec 22 at Sanford Hospital in Fargo.
Kirsten was born in Butte, MT on September 28, 1983 to Tracy Krupich and Gregory Volborth. She spent her first several months in Montana before moving back home to Fargo with her sister, Jackie and her Mom. She attended Nativity Elementary, Discovery, and South High. She later received her degree in Nursing and went on to work at Sanford in Fargo.
Thea had a huge heart, sharp wit, warming smile, and most adorable giggle. She was generous, kind, and unapologetically feisty (sometimes warranted…sometimes not!). Although she did not admit it, she had an amazing natural talent in art and music. Learning was easy for her. She picked up flute and violin with ease and impressive performance in short time. She was gifted with expressive writing and spiritual strength with a special connection to the Moon.
Above all else, Kirsten’s greatest love was her beautiful daughter, Haley Marie. Their relationship was far beyond a mother and daughter. It was one of mutual trust, shared ambitions to travel together, and a love of horror movies. They supported each other with strength and courage to get through difficult times. Thea’s most precious sound was Haley’s angelic voice singing her momma’s favorite songs.
Thea will forever be in the hearts of all of us—rest in the peace and beauty of the many loving arms around you.
Lost before her, father Gregory Volborth, grandparents Ron & Audrey Krupich, grandparents Alex & (recent) Nadja Volborth, great aunts Dolores Krupich and Dasha Volborth, aunt Tonya Krupich, uncle Fr. Tom Krupich
Survived by her, daughter Haley Peterson, mother Tracy Jacobsen (Brian), sister Jackie Giobres (Nick), nephews George & Alex, niece Sophia, and many more beloved Krupich & Volborth aunts, uncles, cousins.
The family will be holding a private service at Nativity Church. An interment will be held in the spring at Holy Cross Cemetery.
Thea will be missed- I have vivid memories of her and Haley growing up at the lake. Happy memories! I enjoyed talking with Thea, she was always smiley. I think and prey for you all often- so sorry for the loss of Thea. I hope you can all find peace.

My dear friend, you and I haven’t seen each other in a long while, but you always held a special place in my heart for all times.
I can still hear the sound of your laugh perfectly in my thoughts, as if you were right next to me. You were an awesome gal to be friends with. I wish I had a chance to see you again before you left. You were a beautiful, natural mother and one of the most charismatic souls I’ve ever met. I feel blessed to have had a chance to meet. And I’ll see you on the other side. Rest easy sister and watch over us all. Love you
