Kristine Henrietta Kasper, 84, passed away on October 8, 2026, leaving behind a lifetime of love, cherished memories, and a family who will miss her dearly.
Kristine was born on February 10, 1942, in Detroit Lakes, Minnesota, to Henry and Frieda Halvorson. Throughout her life, she found joy in her family, the people she loved, and the simple things that made life beautiful.
Kristine shared nearly 40 years of marriage with her beloved husband, Mel Kasper. The couple would have celebrated their 40th wedding anniversary on October 31, 2026. Together, they built a life filled with love, companionship, and countless cherished memories.
Kristine is survived by her loving husband, Mel Kasper; her five children, Kimberly Heisinger (Mike), Kameron Bax, Bobbi Heisinger, Dean Bax (Tirza Joy), and David Bax (Michelle); and Mel’s children, Shelly Hansen, Brenda Crawford (Byron), Sandy Engelhardt (Jon), and JR Kasper (Jeannie). She also leaves behind many grandchildren and great-grandchildren who will carry her memory in their hearts.
To her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, she was lovingly known as Nana. It was a name filled with love, warmth, and countless special memories. Being Nana was more than just a title; it was a special place she held in the hearts of her family. The love she gave and the memories she helped create will be treasured by her grandchildren and great-grandchildren for the rest of their lives.
Kristine had a special love for flowers and the beauty they brought into the world. Whether enjoying a colorful garden or admiring a beautiful bouquet, flowers were one of life’s simple pleasures that brought her happiness. Like the flowers she loved, Kristine brought beauty and warmth to the lives of those around her.
She will be remembered for the love she shared, the memories she helped create, and the special place she held in the hearts of her family. Although her passing leaves an emptiness that cannot be filled, her love and memory will live on through the generations she leaves behind.
While flowers may fade with the seasons, the love Kristine planted in the hearts of her family will continue to bloom for generations.
Forever loved, deeply missed, and never forgotten.
