Laurel L. "Slim" Herrmann

Laurel L. Herrmann, 76, passed away Saturday, January 2 in MeritCare Hospital, Fargo. Son of Ted and Viola Herrmann, Slim was born at Dunn Center by Richardton, ND on June 25, 1933. His family than moved to St. Helens, OR, and later on they moved to Sheldon, ND and lived on a farm with his grandpa August Husky. Slim served in the army for a short period of time during the Korean Conflict. Upon returning to North Dakota, Slim worked for the B & V Railroad. Later on he drove school bus, which he enjoyed because he loved being around children. He was also a policeman in Enderlin, ND. Slim drove semi for international transport company until 1982 when they closed. Even as an over the road truck driver, he still found time to coach his twin daughters, Melissa and Michelles baseball team, the twisters, when they were in grade school. Slim lived life his way. He was a hard working husband and father who loved his family and grandchildren. One of Slims passions was driving truck, which he did until the day he died. Laurel is survived by his loving wife Shirley, Fargo; daughters, Tammy (Dyke) Landberg, Moorhead, MN, Teresa Pahl, Moorhead, MN, Tanya (Ryan) Klev, Hawley, MN, Melissa Herrmann, Fargo, ND, Michelle Herrmann, Fargo, ND, and sister, Lorene (Howard) Wallner, Enderlin, ND. There will be a funeral on Monday, January 11 at 2 in Boulger Funeral Home with visitation 1 hour prior to the service in the funeral home.
