LaVerne Murch

LaVerne Murch Hillsboro, North Dakota LaVerne passed away on Sunday, July 9, 2006, at the Hillsboro Medical Center Nursing Home at the age of 85. LaVerne Hovet was born on July 18, 1920, the daughter of Jacob and Laura (Eken) Hovet, in Buxton, ND. She grew up in this area and received her education, graduating from Mayville State University. LaVerne taught school in country schools in Cass County, in Erie, ND, and in Hillsboro. She was united in marriage to John Thomas Murch on March 30, 1943, in Buxton. They made their home near Hunter until 1956 when they moved to Hillsboro. John passed away in 1961. LaVerne is survived by her children, Ruby (Douglas) Grove of Grand Forks, ND; John (Diane) Murch of Brooklyn Park, MN; and Peter (LaRae) Murch of West Fargo, ND; her brother, Richard Hovet of Iowa City, IA; and her sister, Ruby Latvala of Central Point, OR. Also surviving are her grandchildren, Rachel (Glenn) Delage, Travis (Alexis Simmons) Thompson both of Crookston, MN; Michelle (Jay) Murch-Rothstein of Brooklyn Center, MN; Mark (Jenny) Murch of Brooklyn Park, MN; Mandalie (Musa) Ayieni of Maple Grove, MN; and Kristin Murch of St. Paul, MN; and ten great-grandchildren. LaVerne was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, John; her daughter, Ardith Murch; her brothers, Orlin Hovet and Glenn Hovet; her sisters, Margaret Rohman and Phyllis Ruckreigle; and her grandchildren, Valerie Murch and Shad Thompson.
