Leo Ell

Leo died on Saturday, March 20, 2004, at MeritCare Hospital in Fargo at the age of 78.
Leo was born on April 20, 1925, the son of German Russian immigrants, John and Frances Ell, of Devils Lake, North Dakota. He grew up in this area and received his education at the Catholic Schools. Leo enlisted in the United States Navy when he was 17 years old. He proudly served his country during WWII where he worked as a Radioman on a flag ships including the USS Ahrens. After his discharge he attended college at the University of North Dakota in Grand Forks, and later made his home in Fargo. Leo was united in marriage to Dorothy Albert on August 10, 1953, at St. Mary?s Cathedral in Fargo. They made their home in Fargo where they raised their family. Leo worked as a professional salesman his entire career. He was last employed in pharmaceutical sales prior to his retirement.
Leo was a devoted family man who loved spending time with his children and grandchildren. He enjoyed visiting with neighbors and friends and taking pleasure in the simple things in life. He was a devote member of St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Church in Fargo.
Leo is survived by his loving wife of 50 years, Dorothy of Fargo; his children, Mamie (Jon) Lausch of Lakeville, Minnesota; John Ell of Minneapolis, Minnesota; and Jerome (Amy) Ell of West Fargo, North Dakota; grandchildren, Harrison and Miles Lausch; and Robbie and Ryan Ell. He is also survived by his sister, Patti Bennett of California; and sister-in-law, Eileen Ell of Fargo. Leo was preceded in death by his parents; and 2 sisters and 3 brothers.
In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred to St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Church.
VISITATION: 5-7:30 PM Tuesday March 23, 2004, at Boulger Funeral Home in Fargo ? and also one hour prior to the funeral in the church on Wednesday

FUNERAL: 1:30 PM Wednesday, March 24, 2004, at Church of the Nativity in Fargo
BURIAL: Holy Cross Cemetery in Fargo
