Lina White

Lina Alice White, 87, Fargo, ND died Tuesday, May 30, 2006 at Rosewood on Broadway, Fargo. Lina Alice White, daughter of Charles and Mabel Halsey was born July 22, 1918 in Spokane, Washington. Lina graduated from Rogers High School in Spokane and worked at the Crescent Store in Spokane. Lina and her late husband Jack J. White started their life together in 1938 in Spokane. They relocated to Fargo with their five children in 1955. Together they were very active in their children?s school activities and Church of the Nativity outreach ministries. Lina was a poet, creatively using verse to express her love for God, family and friends. Dearly loved by her family, she set a daily example of thanking God for his tender mercies. She is preceded in death by her husband, Jack J. White; her daughter, Marilyn Gehrig; her son-in-law, Phil Weigand; and her brother, Harold Halsey. She is survived by four of her five children, Dennis (Janet), White, Pittsburgh, PA, David (Deanna), White, Ypsilanti, MI, Donald (Laurie), White, Fargo, ND and Carolyn (John) Aventi, Fargo, ND; son-in-law, Terry Gehrig, Moorhead, MN; thirteen grandchildren; four great grandchildren; and two sisters, Edith (Martin) Olsen, Weiser, ID and Hazel (Merle) Lewis, Spokane, WA.
