Prayer Service:

With deep sorrow, we announce the passing of Linda Ann Smith, 73, whose love and kindness lifted all who knew her. She passed on November 23, 2024.

Linda was a lifelong resident of the Fargo-Moorhead area. She attended St. Joseph’s Elementary School, Mt. St. Benedict High School, and Moorhead Campus High. She received her Computer Science degree from Morehead Technical College before starting her 29-year career at St. Luke’s Hospital, MeritCare, and Sanford Health, where her dedication and compassion made a lasting impact.

But it was as a wife, mother, sister, aunt, and friend that she truly shined. Linda’s kindness, generosity, and sense of joy filled our hearts. She was a gifted singer, a phenomenal cook, and someone whose gentle presence filled every room with warmth. In her life, she exemplified the power of simple acts of kindness and the quiet strength that sustains a family, and a community. Her legacy of love, laughter, and care will continue to inspire and comfort us.

Linda was preceded in death by her mother, Evelyn Morehead; sister, Christine Driscoll; and brother Paul Morehead. She is survived by her husband, Michael; sons, Vincent (Kari) and Matthew (Amber) Smith; daughter, Kathleen Miller (Mark); father, Charles Morehead; siblings, Sr. Cheryl Morehead, Kevin Morehead (Dorene), and Mary Hovelson (Lyle); seven grandchildren; and a large and loving extended family.

Please join us in celebrating Linda’s life. A prayer service will be held at Boulger Funeral Home on Sunday, December 1st at 7pm, with visitation beginning at 6pm. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at Holy Spirit Catholic Church on Monday, December 2nd at 2pm, with reception to follow.
Linda loved flowers – any flowers sent will be enjoyed by the family, then shared with residents in local nursing homes.

  2. “Admitting, this is Linda” I heard this thousands of times during the many years she and I worked at St Lukes/Meritcare/Sanford. She was always pleasant, helpful, kind, and caring to the patients and families, as well as all her coworkers. Linda was one of those gals who you knew would find a room or figure out a solution to whatever issue was presented to her. I appreciated her so much. Sympathies to Mike and the family. 💕
