Linda Jo Bellamy passed away on Friday, July 10, 2026, in Fargo, ND. She was 77.

She was born on August 12, 1948, in Wenatchee, WA, to JT and Belle Bellamy.

She grew up in East Wenatchee and attended Eastmont High School.

In 1962, Linda met Jerry Sparks at an audition she attended, when a friend of hers told her that “this band” was looking for a lead singer. Jerry was the drummer.
She got the job and “Linda Jo and The Nomads” was born.

They were a staple of the Eastern WA. teen dance and live music scene and even appeared on television in a program in Seattle. They released a 45 with two singles on Julian Records in 1963, titled “Stop Your Cryin” and “Just Like You.”

She married Jerry Sparks on October 8, 1965, in Coeur D’ Alene, ID. They had two daughters, Wendy and Joni.

In the early 1970s, Linda attended Mount Hood Community College and was a dental assistant and receptionist for many years in western Washington.

Linda is survived by her brother Steve Bellamy of Fairfield, CA., daughters Wendy Walker of Orcas Island, WA., Joni Kuhn (Mike) of Fargo, ND., grandchildren, Derek Reimers of Chicago, IL., Austin Reimers of Seattle, WA., Quest Kuhn of Fargo ND., Ally Parise of Sequim, WA., Rae Parise of Orcas Island, WA., Mark Walker (Nicole) of Bellingham WA., great granddaughter, Olivia Browning of Sequim, WA. and many, many relatives and friends.

There will be a celebration of life gathering in Everett, WA. Date and time TBD.
