Dr. Linda L. Getz-Kleiman

Dr. Linda Getz-Kleiman, age 76, died on December 1, 2025, at Sheyenne Crossings, West Fargo, ND.

Linda was the daughter of Robert and Elizabeth (Lewis) Getz, born on March 20, 1949, in Bismarck. She attended McVille Elementary School until her family moved to Grafton in 1963 where she graduated from Grafton High School in 1967. She graduated with a B.S. from the University of Wisconsin in 1971 and was accepted to the UND School of Medicine, graduating in 1973. Linda received her medical school degree from the University of Minnesota. She did her pediatric training at Stanford from 1975 through 1978.

With her first husband, Dr. Paul Larsen, she had two beloved daughters, Marisa and Kathryn. She practiced medicine in Sioux Falls and Brookings, SD, and in Ventura, CA. She and her family returned to the Midwest in 1988, settling in Fargo. Linda enjoyed her medical practice and being involved in her daughters’ sports and activities. In 1995, she married a fellow pediatrician, Dr. Ted Kleiman, and they both practiced at Essentia. Ted and Linda shared many interests from Scrabble to enjoying life at their cabin at White Earth Lake to attending the symphony and opera. Linda’s creativity was expressed in all she did: her fabulous meals, baking, gardening, quilting, and music. Linda loved books and traveling and enjoyed trips to Europe with her mom and her daughters. Medical meetings in Maui were a special joy. Another passion for Linda were the six Rotoplast medical missions she participated into the Philippines and South America.

Linda is survived by her husband Dr. Ted Kleiman; her daughters, Marisa Larsen, San Diego, CA, and Kathryn (Ron) Norby, Fargo; grandsons, Dylan and Evan Norby, and Dominick Larsen; brother and sister-in-law, Bob and Lona Daley Getz, Fargo, and sister and sister-in-law Cindy Getz and Susan Snyder, Seattle; and her special uncle, Bob Lewis, Chico, CA. She was preceded in death by her parents, Bob and Betty Getz.

A service will be held on Wednesday, December 3, at 10:30 a.m. at Boulger Funeral Home. Visitation will begin at 9:30. The internment will be at the Temple Beth El Cemetery in North Fargo.

In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation in Linda’s memory to the YWCA, Rape and Abuse Crisis Center, or the Churches United for the Homeless.

Linda loved being a doctor, a wife, a mom, and Grandma Nini to her three darling grandsons. Her family treasures their memories and she will be missed.

  15. Dr. Getz Kleiman was my pediatrician. I remember her always being so kind, gentle, and warm. It was a joy to be her patient, and I wished she could have kept seeing me long after adulthood. We would be so lucky if all doctors were like her. May she rest in peace, and may her memory be a blessing for her family.
