Linda K. (Robison) Trottier passed away peacefully with her husband, daughter, and mother by her side on December 5, 2024, at the age of 79 in Fargo, ND.
Linda was born to Stanley and Myrtle Robison in Thief River Falls, MN on November 7, 1945. The family moved around Minnesota, ultimately residing in Fargo, ND. She spent many summers on the farm in Thief River Falls with Grandma and Grandpa Bondley growing up.
Linda moved to rural Harwood, ND with her family from the Golden Ridge neighborhood after the 1957 tornado and graduated from West Fargo High School in 1963. She had attended Fargo Central High School prior to moving with her family. Linda really liked animals and brought a few home, including a horse and her beloved chihuahua, Smoky.
Linda moved into Fargo and worked on 3-Main at St. Lukes Hospital (MeritCare, now Sanford) on Broadway for over 40 years, first as a nurse’s aide and then a unit clerk before retiring in May of 2008. In 1969 Linda met her future husband, Richard Trottier, at the Hi-10 Steakhouse on a blind date. They were married on December 1, 1973. Together they have one daughter, Amber Trottier.
Linda enjoyed reading whether it was a physical book or on her e-reader, going to movies, and watching TV. Together Linda and Rick enjoyed car shopping, car shows, thrice weekly BINGO, and dancing at the West Fargo VFW, and the annual summer trip to Deadwood, SD. She was a lifetime member of the Ladies Auxiliary to the West Fargo VFW. She really enjoyed spending time with family.
Linda is survived by her mother, Myrt, of Fargo, ND; husband, Rick of Fargo; daughter, Amber of Fargo; granddaughter, Ashley; brother, Gary (Gloria) Robison of Fargo; sister, Annette (Tyler) Smedshammer of Cloquet, MN; and many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Linda was preceded in death by her father, four brothers-in-law, and one sister-in-law.

Rick, Amber and family ~ I was so shocked to hear of Linda’s passing! I worked with her at St Lukes from 1979 – 1990. She was a Unit Clerk extraordinaire, that’s for sure. She ran through those charts and orders, knowing who to call, where to schedule, where to find test information, etc. The Doctors knew she ran a tight ship, helping them with anything and everything. In later years I would walk by Trottier’s home and occasionally catch her outside for a visit. She was a treasure, teaching all of us the ropes at “the desk!” Blessed be her memory. ❤️
Richard and Amber, I am so sorry for your loss. She trained me in at St Luke’s when I started on 3 Main. I always enjoyed working with Linda. So much fun for Rod and I catching up with Linda and Richard at the VFW. I am so sorry I won’t be able to attend the visitation but I will be thinking of you both. With deepest sympathy,
Debbie (Kaatz) Garland.
