Lisa Bahnmiller passed away Saturday, May 9, 2026, at her residence in Fargo, ND.
Lisa Marie Bahnmiller was born on December 26, 1970, in Jamestown, ND to Gary Staloch and Genny Bahnmiller. Arriving just one day after Christmas and weighing only 5 pounds 4 ounces, Lisa may have been tiny, but from the very beginning, she carried a spirit much bigger than herself. She was welcomed into a small but deeply loving family and shared a lifelong connection with her older sister, Christine. She also shared an especially close bond with her mother, Genny, whose love and support remained constant throughout Lisa’s life.
Growing up, Lisa was exactly the kind of child you could never forget. She was outgoing, energetic, and full of life. She had a natural gift for connecting with people even as a little girl, Lisa could walk right up to someone and start a conversation as if she had known them forever, especially with older adults who were quickly charmed by her warm and friendly nature.
Life with Lisa was never dull. Whether it was joking around, sharing stories, or fiercely competing during board games, card games, or even Guitar Hero, she brought excitement and energy wherever she went. Lisa had a way of making ordinary moments unforgettable with her laughter, humor, and larger-than-life personality.
Family meant everything to her, and she treasured the moments spent with the people she loved most. She was overjoyed to become an aunt to Courtney LaMonda and Paige Bjerke and later a great-aunt to Avree Olson, Jack Olson, Cutler Bjerke, and Anders Bjerke, all of whom brought immense joy and pride to her life.
Lisa graduated from Fargo South High School in 1989 and, while still young, began working at The Forum. What started as a job became a place where she dedicated nearly 30 years of hard work, loyalty, and commitment. She took pride in showing up for others and being someone people could count on.
Lisa later married Joe Zobach. Although their marriage eventually came to an end, the bond they shared never fully faded. They continued to care deeply for one another, and their families remained close — a true reflection of the love, respect, and friendship that endured throughout the years.
To know Lisa was to know someone who loved deeply. She carried herself with warmth and sincerity, making people feel comfortable simply by being around her. She loved relaxing at home, watching movies and TV shows, and you could almost always expect her to ask, “Have you watched anything good lately?” Lisa also loved music, and the lyrics always seemed to hold a special meaning for her.
Lisa had a flair for style that was completely her own. She loved jewelry, fun purses, and having her nails done — even if you often found her wearing a baseball cap. She enjoyed the little things that added sparkle to life. And while those who loved her knew that “Lisa time” sometimes meant arriving a little later than planned, they also knew every moment with her was worth the wait because she brought laughter, warmth, and personality wherever she went.
More than anything, Lisa loved being home with her beloved cats, Stink the 3rd and Lilian. She adored them both, but Stink the 3rd held an especially special place in her heart. Their companionship brought her comfort, peace, and happiness through every season of life.
Lisa’s story is one of love, laughter, loyalty, and heart. She will be remembered for her vibrant spirit, her caring soul, her sense of humor, and the countless ways she made people feel seen, welcomed, and loved.
