Lois M. Berg passed away peacefully on Tuesday, December 31, 2024, at St. Catherine’s South in Fargo, ND, at the age of 94. The family would like to offer a very special thank you to the wonderful staff at St. Catherine’s South and Hospice for the thoughtful and loving care they provided to Lois.

Lois was born on April 18, 1930, to Justin & Edna Mae (DeGrasse) Skyberg in Hillsboro, ND. Growing up in Hillsboro and later graduating from high school in Hillsboro, ND. Lois went on to marry Carl Berg on February 8, 1949, in Ada, MN at First Lutheran Church. They had and raised five boys in Hillsboro, ND until they later moved to Fargo, ND in 1964. Lois worked various jobs throughout her life, including stints on the farm, the Gardner Hotel, JC Penney, and Wingate Hotel.

Lois lived a life full of love, laughter, and wonderful memories. She had a spitfire personality and was a friend to many and found comfort in the friendships she made. Lois thoroughly enjoyed gardening, playing bingo, traveling, going to the lakes, being a part of the Moose Lodge Women’s Auxiliary, and dancing. Throughout her lifetime, she cherished the countless friendships she formed, each one adding joy and meaning to her journey here on earth. Her greatest blessings were her children, grandchildren, and greatgrandchildren. She will be remembered always for her kindness and loving heart.
Lois will be missed by her children, Charles (Betty), Clinton (Carmen) Fargo, ND, Carl (Diane) Berg Hot Springs Village, Arkansas, her grandchildren, and greatgrandchildren. Sister-in-laws Inez Flieth, and Doris Berg, and all who call her friend.

Lois was preceded in death by her husband Carl, her parents, her sons Curtis and Craig, and her grandson’s Paul & Jonathan, brothers-in-law Robert, Tom, Roy & Kenneth Flieth, Richard Berg, sisters-in-law Ruthie, Shirley, and Delores Flieth.

CELEBRATION OF LIFE: 1:00PM Saturday, February 8, 2025, at Candlewood Suites, 1831 NDSU Research Park Dr N, Fargo, ND 58102

BURIAL: Riverside Cemetery in Hillsboro, ND in the spring.

  1. Rest in peace dear Aunt Lois. So many fun memories of our family gatherings over the years. When the Bergs and Flieth’s got together there was lots of shenanigans for sure. You will be missed by many!
