  3. Clay and Judy Whittlesey says:

Our deepest sympathies to you, Ray, and your children and their families upon losing Lois. She was certainly a ray of sunshine and a huge part of my life. I had the pleasure and great opportunity of working with her for close to 15 years at the YMCA. Every day was filled with laughter and fun when she was there and then when Marlene Anderson piped in it was even more hilarious. She was a very good friend to me, and sometimes even gave me motherly advice. I always felt surrounded by love when I was in the room with her. Her laughter was infectious and her smile was charming. I’m glad that I kept in contact with her over the years and there is a great sadness in my heart that she is gone, but I know that she is in the arms of our Lord. Clay and I will forever cherish the memories of your dear wife, mother, and grandmother. She will always have a piece of our hearts.

  4. Years ago I taught a class at the Y and Lois was always getting ready in the morning after class. She always greeted everyone and was happy to converse with all of us in the locker room. I can still hear her talking and laughing. I’m so sorry for your loss. Although I haven’t seen Lois. in a long time she was/is unforgettable in a happy way. Sending prayers for Lois and her family.

  5. Ray, so sorry for your loss. Lois was like a ray of sunshine with that beautiful smile on her pretty face. We enjoyed having breakfast after mass in Mesa and getting caught up on so much of our activities. We both lived in Fargo but seen more of each other in Mesa, Arizona. 🙏🙏

  6. Ray and Family: Please accept our sincere condolences for the loss of Lois, Joyce and I will keep her and your family in our prayers. May Lois rest in peace. God Bless your classmate and wife.. Francis Dahl

  7. To our Riedman cousins and spouses—Holly and Wade, Steve, Sue and J.C., and Bill and Doris—our hearts are with you as you gather to celebrate Lois’ life and loves. From our childhood to our adulthood, your mom was a delightful aunt to us. Lois was a spitfire of energy, conversation and opinions. Her enthusiasm for life always made us smile. We hope her arrival in heaven looked like another beautiful day at Otter Tail Lake. We know she has a seat saved for your dad to join her. We join you in spirit this week as you celebrate your mom’s 90 years of living her best life—in Fargo, at the lake, in Mesa, in Valley City, and visiting you. Love and happiest of memories to all!

  8. Dear Ray and Family,
We are so sorry to hear of Lois passing. Our deepest condolences. She has been a part of my life for 70 years. I remember her smiling and often asking me about church, family, and education. And always so happy and sincere. I am sure she is still watching over me.
    Rest in Peace Godmother Lois!

  9. Ray and Family, I have many great memories of Lois, most of which were with my parents Donald and Marge Welken and Joe and Mavis Loendorf. Always lots of fun and laughter. How coincidental that Lois and Mavis both received their angel wings just days apart from each other, and I’m sure both of them are filling Joe and Donald in on the latest earthly happenings. What a blessing to have friendships that literally last a lifetime! May all of your memories and God’s promises of eternal life bring you peace. With Love, hugs and prayers,
    Cyndy Welken-Place
