Lola Swedberg, 91, passed away peacefully on October 8, 2023, at Sanford Hospital, Fargo, ND. Lola was born October 30, 1931, to Oscar Martin and Delphia Martin (Hollingsworth) in Sykeston, ND.

She grew up on the farm at Sykeston and attended school in Barlow, ND. She graduated in 1949 from St. Thomas High School, Winona, MN.

Lola married Wally Swedberg, July 8, 1951, and had 3 boys, Lynn, Randy, and Rollie. Lola and her family made their home in Detroit Lakes, Minnesota where she helped grow the family business. Lola started working at Kuehn Pearson Rufer (KPR) Food Brokage company in 1977 where she proudly served as the office manager for 17 years. In 1994, she moved to Eugene, OR where she worked for US Bank and later for Randy’s Riverview Market, her son’s business.

Lola loved sports, especially the University of Oregon Ducks, the North Dakota State University Bison, and the Minnesota Vikings. She loved to garden and tend to her flowers. She was an avid reader, a meticulous note taker and very organized. But her biggest love in life was her children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren.

Lola is survived by her 3 children, Lynn (JoAnn) Swedberg, Randy (Cheryl) Swedberg, Rollie (Leah) Swedberg; grandchildren, LeAnn, Kim, Sam, Michael, Megan, Ellie, and Abby; great-grandchildren, Madaline, William, Emma, Cace, Cona, Crue, Cian, Klara; and sister, LaVonne LaChance; and several other nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her father, Oscar; her mother Delphia; husband Wally, and brothers, Len, and Morris. Condolences and memories may be shared at www.boulgerfuneralhome.com. A celebration of Lola’s life will be held at 2 p.m., Friday, October 20th at Crosspoint Lutheran Church, 4550 37th Ave S, Fargo ND 58104, with fellowship to follow.

    I enjoyed visiting with your mother at Good Sam! My mom moved there in May and your mother was a very sweet beautiful woman! She always had a smile and we had several conversations! She will be missed!
