Lorenza Bittner

Lorenza P. Bittner, 93, Fargo passed away Monday, September 24, 2012 at Bethany Retirement Living, Fargo.
Lorenza was born in Remsen, IA on January 11, 1919 to Frank and Margaret (Wiebersch) Young. The family moved to Waubun, MN the following year and lived there until 1928 when the family moved to Detroit Lakes, MN. She attended Holy Rosary Grade School and graduated from Detroit Lakes Public High School. She worked for Northwestern Bell Telephone Company in Detroit Lakes and at ND Metal and Culvert Company in Fargo as a secretary. On June 5, 1951 she married Emmett Bittner of Calvin, ND at Holy Rosary Catholic Church in Detroit Lakes. They farmed in Calvin until they retired in 1981 and moved to Devils Lake, ND. They moved to Fargo, ND in October of 1999.
They enjoyed their retirement playing cards with friends and taking tours. She enjoyed working with her church Circle. Flowers and gardening were also a favorite pastime. Emmett passed away on March 30, 2000.
She is survived by her son, Tim (Jane) Bittner, Fargo, ND and two granddaughters: Annalise and Danielle; and one brother: Roy (Peg) Young, St. Paul, MN.
She is preceded by her parents; one brother, Cecil Young; one sister: Elizabeth Cummings and her loving husband.
Lorenza’s family would like to thank the staff of Bethany Retirement Living for the loving care that Lorenza received during her time there.
