Lorraine Evenson

Lorraine Evenson, 87, of Fargo passed away September 25, 2022 at Eventide Fargo.
Lorraine was born on April 12th, 1935 to Clifford and Gladys(Bartz) Christianson and raised in Fertile Minnesota. She was baptized and confirmed at Little Norway Church rural Fertile Minnesota. She graduated high school in 1953 and moved to Fargo North Dakota to work at Western States Life Insurance Company where she met Russell Evenson and they later married September 5th 1959 at Little Norway Lutheran Church Fertile Minnesota. Together they raised 3 daughters Joan, Janelle and Barbara.
Lorraine loved to bake and can. She loved sewing, crafts, cross stitching, quilting, bowling, dancing, card club, visiting with friends. Lorraine also enjoyed vacationing with family and the many trips her and Russ took.
Lorraine’s pride and joy were her grandchildren.
She was a very active member of St. Matthews Lutheran Church Fargo and enjoyed bible study and Women’s LCW.
She was currently a member of Olivet Lutheran Church, Fargo.
Lorraine is survived by her husband of 63 years; her daughters Joan (John) Csobor, Edgerton MN; Janelle Evenson, Wisconsin and Barbara (Dewey) Halvorson, Galesburg ND. Grandchildren Christopher (Hannah) Huls, Worthington MN; Eric (Kelly) Huls, Sioux Falls SD; Luke Huls, Worthington MN; Andrew Evenson, Woodbury MN; Trent Evenson, Woodbury MN; Ashley Kramer, Moorhead MN ; Trevor Kramer, Moorhead MN. Great-grandchildren Haley, Harper, Ryan and Callie. Step grandchildren Christy Csobor, John Csobor(Lacey), William Csobor (Amanda), Wyatt Halvorson and Phoebe Halvorson. Step great-grandchildren Logan, Chelsi, Hunter, Madelyn, Payson , Carter and Lucas. Sisters LaVonne Pederson, Bloomington MN and Lois (Patrick) Thompson, Blaine MN.
She is preceded in death by her parents, her infant sister Carol Ann, brother Paul Christianson, brother-in-law Donald Evenson and brother-in-law Donald Pederson.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks memorials to be sent to Hospice of the Red River Valley or a charity of your choice.

Many fond memories of our visits with my aunt Lorraine, uncle Russ and my cousins Joan, Janelle and Barb. She led a full life and was well loved. My thoughts are with uncle Russ and my cousins.
Russ & family, I’m so sorry for your loss. I enjoyed knowing her from Western States days while John was still there.
She was my age and so probably we were at the same basketball games -Fertile and Twin Valley. However I didn’t know her then. Take comfort in all your good memories.
