Lorraine “Lola” Sundin, 79, Fargo North Dakota passed away peacefully with family surrounding her on October 30, 2016 at Sanford Hospital. Lola was born May 13, 1937 in a farm house in Walsh County to Martin and Mary Helmoski. Lola grew up on a farm by Ardoch. She went to business college in East Grand Forks where she met the love of her life, Kirkwood Sundin and was married May 13, 1957. They moved to Fargo, North Dakota in 1968. She worked at Fargo North High until she retired where she enjoyed the students throughout the years. She treasured her breakfast club gathering every Thursday with the Ladies she had worked with. Lola took pleasure in clothing and had an elegant style. She enjoyed food and loved to try different cuisines.  Lola was an avid gardener and loved flowers, birds and watching the Bison and Vikings. One of her hobbies was making beaded necklaces. Lola enjoyed people tremendously and always wanted to find out about a person, she collected obituaries and loved reading about people’s lives. She enjoyed genealogy and history. Lola was a member of Holy Spirit Church and enjoyed social activities with her friends. She was a wonderful mother, grandmother and great grandmother and loved to have the family around her. Neighbors became lifelong friends She is survived by her children: Lee (Keiko) Sundin, Lisa (Rick) Sukut, and Tish (Joe) Sundin-Bedard and through friendship and love she acquired a third daughter Betty Jo Tostenson, grandchildren: Lola Sundin, Travis (Shannon) Sukut, Brandie (Justin) Logan, Dakota and Grayson Bedard and great-grand children: Tristan, Kitana, Kiara, and Keelee, many nieces, nephews, and friends who are dearly loved and cherished. Lola is proceed in death by her husband Kirk, her granddaughter Angela Sukut, her parents , brother Julian Helmoski, sister, Isabel Narloch and niece Arlene Diedrich.

  1. My prayers and thoughts are with all of the family during this difficult time. .She was a beautiful lady full of smiles and laughs and will be missed . Lisa before my Mom passed she told me that she would always be with me even if I couldn’t see her so know that your mom will always be with you.
