Lowell Alderman, 72, Fargo, ND, passed away on December 25, 2005 at his home surrounded by his family. Lowell was born on June 21, 1933 in Fargo, ND to Harvey and Minnie (Hope) Alderman. He attended school in Fargo, graduating from Oak Grove High School in 1951. He served in the US Army from April 1953 through March 1955. During this time he was also employed by Big Red Grocery and worked there until 1983. Lowell then worked for The Forum from 1984 until his retirement in 2003. He married Lois Durler on June 6, 1965 in Milnor, ND. They resided in Fargo, ND. Lowell was a member of Peace Lutheran Church, the American Legion, VFW, and 40 and 8. Lowell enjoyed spending time with his family, with a special fondness for his seven grandchildren. He enjoyed watching sports, with his favorite teams being the FM Redhawks, Minnesota Vikings, Twins, Timberwolves, and Golden Gophers. Lowell is survived by his wife Lois, sons, Shane (Laura) Alderman, Fargo, ND, Ryan (Tracy) Alderman, Glyndon, MN; daughter, Erin (Kevin) Pietsch, Fargo, ND; seven grandchildren, Alexis, Lucas, Dylan, Isaac, Emily, Matthew and Reagan. Also surviving are his sisters, Beulah Nelson, Fargo, ND, Lois Alderman, Fargo, ND, Alta (Duane) Eng, Denver, CO, Florence (Leland) Hans, Davenport, ND; and his brother, Ralph (Beatrice) Alderman, Fargo, ND. He was preceded in death by his parents; one brother, Harold; two sisters, Marion Honcik, Lenna Alderman; his brother-in-law, Howard Durler; and nephew, Terry Alderman.
