God’s angels came to deliver Lowell Edward Siebels, 80, of Harwood, North Dakota, to the arms of the Lord on January 24, 2025, taking his final breath in the company of his wife, children, and grandchildren.
A native of Perham, Minnesota, Lowell was born to Alois and Helen Siebels on February 6, 1944, and was not expected to survive much past birth. To the surprise and ultimate chagrin of all those that knew him, he proved his doctors wrong not just once, but on over a dozen numerous occasions over his nearly 81 years of life. The third of six children, Lowell was known for his beaming smile and seemingly endless charisma.
After graduation from Fargo Central High School, Lowell joined the Naval Reserves before returning to Fargo to become, in no particular order, a plumber, electrician, repair man, truck driver, chemist, salesman, carpenter, landlord, arborist, woodworker and general contractor, before settling down to a quiet retirement of painting wildlife in his home office at Harwood.
In January of 1973, he met Carolyn Terfehr of Kent, Minnesota, and after a whirlwind romance they were married on September 1, 1973, in Kent, Minnesota. They would eventually settle in Harwood, North Dakota, where they would reside together for nearly 51 years in a home Lowell built with his own hands, and raised two children.
A deeply religious man, Lowell was a parishioner of Saint Mary’s Cathedral in Downtown Fargo for over 50 years, and served in Knights of Columbus Council #782 where he would attain the rank of fourth degree. He was a member of the Holy Cross Cemetery Board for many years, and Saint Mary’s Parish Council.
He is survived by his loving wife, Carolyn; his two children, Jason Siebels (Jessica) of Fargo, ND and Stacie Morowski (James) of Portland ND; his nine grandchildren, Tristian, Izak, Alexis, Isabelle, and Emersyn Morowski, and Jefferson, Agnes, Philomena, and Petrichor Siebels.
Lowell was preceded in death by his parents, Alois and Helen; and his older brother, Ben.
