Lyle Brandt
January 6, 1943 ~ March 12, 2020
Lyle passed away Thursday, March 12, 2020 at 77 years old.
Lyle wrote his obituary that he would like to share with you:
“Lyle was born in Glasgow, Montana on January 6, 1943 to Leonard and Violet Brandt. Lyle grew up in Upham, ND on his father’s farm. Lyle worked many odd jobs, he went to Oklahoma with his dad custom combining for a few years. He also had three special friends that he worked for, Vernon Brandt, Clarence Mogard and Gordon Becker. Lyle went in the Army when he was 17 and spent most of his time in Germany. When he got out, he met this great gal, Sharon Olson, and they got married in 1965. They moved to Fargo and Lyle went to work for UPS. He was there for 8 1/2 years but always wanted his own business so he started All New Gutter Service and had it for 15 years. He had a chance to sell it to Western Products. He and Sharon had two great boys, Steve and Tom. Steve and three grand boys, Chase, Hunter and Trey. Tom and Erika and one great girl, Ella.”
Lyle and Sharon moved to Surprise, AZ in June 2019. Lyle was happy to live out his last months in the sunshine. Lyle will be greatly missed by his family, friends and those who had the chance to know him.
He was proceeded in death by his parents and sister, Melba Olson. He is survived by his wife, Sharon; Steve and wife, Sandra, and six boys; Tom and wife, Erika and daughter Ella; three brothers, two sisters; along with many cousins, nieces and nephews.

Hi, Sharon. We’re so sorry to read in today’s Forum that Lyle has died. You, Steve, Tom, and families are certainly very much in our thoughts and prayers. Love and Blessings.
My memories of Lyle begin with Sharon, who was so eager to tell me about her new love while they were dating; a love that soon blossomed into marriage celebrated in that lovely little Lutheran Church in Upham. I was fortunate to be a bridesmaid at that ceremony. While distance prevented us from engaging in the daily interactions of friends, our bond of shared memories was secure over the years and infrequent meetings.
Many decades have passed and diverse paths taken, but Lyle’s joy, energy, enthusiasm, ability to make those around him feel carefree and happy never changed, nor did his intangible gifts – his values, dreams, love, faith, and strength which he lovingly bequeathed to his children and grandchildren.
A pleasure to know him.
A life well lived.
Hi Sharon, we just learned of Lyle’s passing and we are very saddened, please accept our condolences. Lyle was a very kind and caring person and sincere friend. We had no idea you had move to Arizona. Lyle will always be remembered by us.
