Lyle Davis

Lyle D. Davis, 78, 2109 North 9 ? Street, Fargo, died Tuesday, September 2, 2003, at MeritCare Hospital, Fargo. Lyle was born in Lisbon, ND, on September 15, 1924, to Leon and Harriet (Finks) Davis. He grew up in Elliott, ND, and graduated from Elliott High School in 1942. He was drafted into the service, and served in the Army from 1943-46. He served overseas from November 1944 to February 1946. He was wounded in Germany in February 1945, and also saw action in Battle of the Bulge during Christmas 1944. He returned home after the war, and attended North Dakota State University. He began working at Northwest Airlines in 1947 as a transportation agent, and retired from there in 1986. He married Phyllis Lambrecht on April 17, 1949, in Lisbon. He is survived by his wife, Phyllis, Fargo; two children, Marlo (Sheila) Davis, Crookston, MN, and Kim Mayer, San Ramon, CA; four grandchildren; and one brother, Keith (Dorothy) Davis, Fargo.
