Lyle Ladwig

Lyle L. Ladwig, 73, of Kindred, ND, passed away at his home under the care of Hospice of the Red River Valley on Friday, March 21, 2008 from cancer. Lyle was born on February 13, 1935 on the family farm near Lawndale, MN to Walter and Anna Katharine (Thomas ) Ladwig. Lyle served in the United States Marine Corps from 1957-1959, and was stationed in Barstow, CA. On September 19, 1962, he married the love of his life, Marlys Pohl, at St. Mary's Cathedral, Fargo, ND. They were happily married for 45 years. Lyle held many jobs over the years including Reger Electric and Ditch Witch of North Dakota. He became self-employed as a cattle rancher in 1987. Lyle enjoyed spending time with his family, hunting, attending auctions and cattle sales, and working in his shop. Lyle will be dearly missed by his wife, Marlys; son, Scott (Heidi), Glyndon, MN; daughter, Tammy (Gary) Potter, Fargo, ND; grandchildren, Cal Potter, Marlysa and Wyatt Ladwig; siblings, Ralph, Montana, Wallace (Jeanie), Rothsay, MN, Dorothy (Lloyd) Scheffler, Barnesville, MN, Curtis (MaryLou), Argusville, ND; brother-in-law Edwin Johnson, Mayville, ND and numerous nephews and nieces. Lyle was preceded in death by his parents; brother, William and sister, Charlotte Johnson. The Funeral for Lyle will be Wednesday, March 26, 2008 at 11:00 am at St. Maurice's Catholic Church, Kindred, ND. Visitation will be Tuesday, March 25, 2008 from 5:00-7:00 pm at Fredrikson Funeral Chapel, Kindred, ND, with a Prayer Service at 7:00 pm. Burial at Holy Cross South Cemetery, Fargo, ND.
