Lynn A. Brosowske
April 14, 1955 ~ August 27, 2024
Lynn’s service will be livestreamed below starting at 10:00 AM Wednesday, September 4, 2024.
Lynn Arlin Brosowske, a devoted husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend, passed away peacefully at home on August 27, 2024, at the age of 69. Lynn spent his final moments surrounded by his loving wife of 50 years, Patricia Brosowske, and the rest of his family, after courageously battling cancer for the past five years.
Born on April 14, 1955, Lynn was a true Minnesotan at heart, with a deep passion for his favorite sports teams—the Vikings, Twins, and Wild. He loved gathering with family and friends to watch the games, enjoying good food and great company while cheering on his teams. Whether it was football, baseball, or hockey season, Lynn never missed an opportunity to support his Minnesota teams.
Shortly after marrying Patricia on November 17, 1973, Lynn proudly enlisted in the U.S. Army, where he served until December 1980. Stationed in Germany, Colorado, and Kentucky, Lynn embraced his role with dedication and honor. Patricia traveled alongside him throughout his service, sharing in both the adventures and challenges of military life. Lynn often spoke fondly of the companionship he built with his fellow soldiers and the invaluable experiences that shaped him during these years. His time in the Army fostered a deep sense of pride and patriotism, which remained a defining aspect of his character throughout his life.
An avid outdoorsman, Lynn’s greatest love was fishing. When he wasn’t at home with his family, he could often be found on a lake, casting a line and finding peace in nature’s beauty. Fishing was his true passion, and he lived for those quiet moments on the water. He also enjoyed hunting and simply being outdoors, creating countless memories with family and friends. His loyal dog, Trapper, along with his beloved dogs, Cocoa and Jasmine, were constant companions and cherished members of the family.
Lynn is survived by his beloved wife, Patricia Brosowske; children, Billy Brosowske, Jennifer Lang (Mark), and Crystal Brosowske (Chris Lynnes); cherished grandchildren, Billy Brosowske Jr., Gavin Brosowske, Layla Pilon, Hunter Bauer, Grant Friesen, and step-grandson Rylie Lang. He is also survived by his parents, Arlin Brosowske (LaVonne) and Dorris Brosowske; siblings, Sandra Ostbye (Gary), Rick Brosowske (Cynthia), Kimberly Johnson (Lyndon), and Lisa Ripley (Steven); and brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Duane Hagen (Judy), Ron Hagen (late Sandra), Curt Hagen (Mary), Janice Ault (Harlin), Sharol Rydquist (Chuck), Steve Hagen (Shelley), and Mike Hagen (Gail). Lynn leaves behind many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends who will deeply miss him.
He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Rueben and Mabel Brosowske; parents-in-law, Albin and Helen Hagen; sister-in-law, Sandra Hagen; his niece, Callee Hagen; and his beloved dogs, Cocoa and Jasmine.
Lynn’s memory will forever live on in the hearts of those who knew him. His warmth, humor, and love for life will be cherished by his family, friends, and all who had the privilege of knowing him. Now, he is “forever fishing,” finding peace in the waters beyond.
The family wishes to extend their heartfelt gratitude to the VA Hospital and Hospice of the Red River Valley for their compassionate care and support during this time.
