Makenzie N. Bohn

Makenzie Nicole Woodman was born on March 12th, 1997 in Thief River Falls, MN, daughter of Dean and Nicole Woodman.

At a young age, her family moved to Fergus Falls, MN and ultimately Underwood, MN— which is where she grew up. She was very active in the schools with events and groups. She also played numerous sports including softball and basketball, and especially excelled in volleyball.

After high school she moved to Grand Forks and began college at UND, before ultimately pursuing and receiving her Master of Cosmetology degree from Josef’s School of Hair. Following graduation, she settled in Fargo, ND, where she began her career as a cosmetologist.

In 2018, she met her future husband, Zachary Bohn, and they were married in 2023. The two had lots of fun together in their 8 years including traveling around the country, as well as trips out of the country. She also enjoyed spending time with family, especially her little niece and nephew, Mila and Wells, who were so special to her.

In these years she also completed her bachelors degree in education at MSUM, and lived out her dream as an independent stylist for 5+ years. She loved what she did as a profession and her clients were like extended family to her.

Aside from cosmetology, Kenzie was a woman of many talents. She could cook and bake recipes from scratch, and because of that she never cooked exactly the same meal twice. She had a knack for commanding any room she was in, and was able to make any person feel like they were the most important person at any given time. She had a smile that lit up any room, and a laugh to match. Put another way, there was no such thing as a dull moment with her, and everyone loved her for that.

Kenzie and Zach were expecting their first child together in May, and both were ecstatic for this next chapter in their lives. At 33 weeks pregnant, Kenzie experienced a sudden and unexpected medical event. After about a week, she passed away peacefully on April 5th, 2026 in the presence of loved ones.

Kenzie will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her. She is preceded in death by her newborn daughter, Posey Jo Bohn. She is survived by her husband Zachary; parents Dean and Nicole Woodman; brother Benjamin and sister-in-law Ashley; niece Mila and nephew Wells; mother-in-law Darci and father-in-law Scott; sister-in-law Hannah Macabeo; brother-in-laws Adam Bohn and Gonzo Macabeo.

A celebration of life will be held in Fargo at a later date. Updates will be shared by family to social media as these details are determined.
