Margaret Seeb

Margaret (Peggy) Seeb, 97, of Fargo, ND, passed away on January 29, 2020, surrounded by family at Villa Maria in Fargo. Peggy was born November 1, 1922, in Enderlin, ND, to John and Agnes (Reynolds) Hughes. Peggy grew up in Minneapolis, MN, and graduated from St. Margaret’s Academy in 1941. After high school, she was employed as a Traveling Cashier for F. W. Woolworth Co. in Minneapolis. She thoroughly enjoyed and was proud of work that took her to “six states and parts of Canada!” Peggy’s work required travel by bus, plane, and train, and it was while she was at a train station that she met her future husband, Arthur P. Seeb, of Williston, ND. They married on May 17, 1952, at Our Lady of Victory Catholic Church in Minneapolis. Art and Peggy spent most of their married years in Fargo, ND, where they raised their eight children. In 1966, Art and Peggy purchased a home on Pelican Lake in Minnesota and spent the next 48 years creating lake-life memories with their children and grandchildren. Peggy loved the busy days when “all you kids” were boating, swimming, and fishing at the lake. At the same time, she cherished the beauty and calm of the Pelican Lake sunset every evening! While sunsets were filled with a special beauty, Peggy also welcomed each new day with a “Rise and shine. It’s a beautiful day” attitude. She modeled daily the importance of faith, family, and caregiving, and she selflessly lived her life to its fullest. In January of 2014, Peggy moved to Villa Maria in Fargo, where she continued to live a rich and fulfilling life of significance. She enjoyed the variety of activities, especially Mass, bingo, and music times. More importantly, she thrived by creating and developing new relationships with residents and staff. She deeply loved and was loved by many throughout her final days. Peggy was a long-time member of St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Church in Fargo. She is survived by her children: Maggie (Milt) Mitzel, Fargo; Mary Jo (Keith) Lang, Leawood, KS; Joseph (Jo) Seeb, Stillwater, MN; Patrick Seeb, Rochester, MN; Michelle (Joseph) Martin, Fargo; Dennis (Kim) Seeb, Fargo; Denise (Vance) Gulickson, McKinney, TX; and Shannon Seeb, Fargo. She is also survived by her grandchildren and great-grandchildren: Jackie (Josh) Gow and sons Peter, Michael, Justin; John (Taylor) Mitzel; Arthur, Henry, and Frank Seeb; Hannah Seeb; Geoffrey Martin; Emily Seeb and daughter Saige; Jeremy Gulickson, and Kylie (Michael) Patti; and step-granddaughter Annette (Larry) Rasile and children Xavior Jimenez (and son Cass) and Vivian Rasile. Peggy was preceded in death by her husband, Arthur, parents, John and Agnes Hughes, and siblings, Therese (John) Schaefer, Mary (Earl) Hoyne, Jerome (Donna) Hughes, and John (Sally) Hughes. Peggy’s family wishes to extend their gratitude to the staff of Villa Maria and Hospice of the Red River Valley for their exceptional care. In Lieu of flowers, donations may be made to CHI Friendship, 801 Page Drive, Fargo, ND 58103. A private funeral Mass will be held at St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Church, with burial at Holy Cross Cemetery North, Fargo. Arrangements have been entrusted to Boulger Funeral Home, Fargo. 25. I met Mrs Seeb for the first time when she lived on…I think it was 22nd St S? I was astonished that they raised 8 amazing kids out of that tiny house. She had to be very very organized. She wasn’t even frazzled, it was just another day at the Seeb house. It had to be around 1984 or 85. She was very welcoming and gave me her time when I’m sure she could have been doing something else.
Time is an amazing gift which she Shared with many. Blessings to the Seeb family.

Your mom lit up talking about her and all of you. She must have been an amazing mother. Thinking of you all- Tonya Oss-Brewer

  28. What a wonderful lady. May your memories with Mom and Grandma bring you peace at this time. God Bless!
