Margaret "Faith" Lewis

Heaven gained the most beautiful and sweetest wife, mother, sister, aunt and friend on August 03, 2015. Margaret Faith Lewis 75, passed from our loving hands into the Lord's at Rosewood in Fargo, North Dakota. She was surrounded by the love of her family, amazing nurses and several members of the clergy. The world was truly blessed on October 25, 1939 when Margaret Faith Baumgardner, was born to John and Alice Baumgardner in Barnesville, Minnesota. She was the second daughter of 12 children. Faith began life in Barnesville and resided for a few short years there. Then the family was moved to a farm in Sabin, Minnesota and lived there for several years. Finally, John and Alice moved the family to Fargo, North Dakota where they permanently resided . Faith attended St Mary's Catholic School and then Fargo Central High and graduated in May 1958. She then married the love of her life John Delbert Lewis on June 27, 1958 and gave birth to three daughters, Julie, Jennifer and Kristie. Jack and Faith purchased their first home in the Golden Ridge Development in Fargo, North Dakota and went camping every weekend down at their lake lot at Poss's Beach on Lake Lizzie in Minnesota. They lived in Fargo until 1978 until they found and bought their dream home in Pelican Rapids. They lived in Pelican until in 2001 when they had to let their beautiful home go as it was flooded by rising water. They then moved back to Fargo and were currently residing at HighPointe Apartments on Broadway. Faith worked during high school at Hornbacher's in Moorhead and babysitting for Boulger's. After graduation she worked briefly at Antonio's Grotto on Broadway until landing her career as a Credit Manager at Cummins Diesel in West Fargo. She worked for numerous years at Cummins until accepting her job at Lake Region Electric in Pelican Rapids where she worked until she retired. Faith had a passion for life, and strong love of family and religion. Everyone who knew or came into contact with her loved her instantly for her quick wit and charm. She enjoyed spending time with her family, racing 3/4 midget cars in the powder puff league where she won several trophies, gardening, canning, cooking, baking fresh bread, rolls and doughnuts, camping, fishing, feeding and watching the hummingbirds. She collected hummingbird memorabilia and had an extensive collection of porcelain Nuns called "Heavenly Habits" by Deb Wood. Faith is survived by, the love of her life for 57 years John Lewis, Fargo, three daughters Julie (Duane) Severson, Pelican Rapids, Jennifer (Todd) Fiedler, Pelican Rapids and Kristie Lewis, Fargo. She was blessed with 3 grandchildren whom she loved dearly, Jordan Severson, Fargo, Faith and Jackson Fiedler, Pelican Rapids. She is also survived by her siblings Kathleen (Roger) Savageau, Apple Valley, Darlene (Howard) Bradsteen, Woodbury, John "Jackie" (Charlotte) Baumgardner, Fargo, Betty Jean Holland, Fargo, Frank (Phyllis) Baumgardner, St Paul, Patrick (Marcia) Baumgardner, St Paul, Mike (Sharon) Baumgardner, Fargo, Russ (Sylvia) Baumgardner, Fargo, Jim Baumgardner, Fargo, Mark (Bonnie) Baumgardner, Moorhead. She is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews. Faith was preceded in death by both her parents John and Alice Baumgardner, her mother and father in law Bertha Holmes and Nathan Lewis; sister, Karen Henning; her sister in laws Donna Rae Carlton, Rocky Baumgardner and Janice Lewis, brother in law Lawerence "Snoose" Lewis, niece Taryn Baumgardner and nephews Howie Bradsteen and Scott Baumgardner. Funeral mass will be held at Holy Spirit Catholic Church in Fargo at 9:00 a.m. on August 15, 2015 and final resting place will be at Holy Cross Cemetery.

    I am so sorry for the loss of your wife and mother and my special and wonderful Auntie Faith we loved her so very much, she was a great cook, friend and the most sweet kind hearted aunt we could have ever asked for. I have many fond memories of going to the lake as a child and the times we got to see them when we went to Fargo or pelican Rapids to see all of you. Please know my prayers and thoughts are with you all we love you and miss you and am so sad for all of you and for ourselves for what we have lost. Love you very much God bless.

  4. We will always remember the great times we had camping with Faith and Jack and the girls. Her quick wit and love of family were always evident in all she did. She will be missed.

  7. I was so sorry to read of Faith’s death. She was a special lady. I remember all the good times at St. Leonard’s. Lots of other fun memories also. Keeping all of you in my thoughts and prayers.

  9. I am SO glad that we got to spend an afternoon with Aunt Faith and Uncle Jack when we were back in Fargo last Christmas! We had such a nice afternoon and they got to meet their 6 year old great niece Hailey for the first time. They were one of the most warm and welcoming people I ever had the pleasure of knowing and I was lucky to call them family. We will miss them terribly. We love you Uncle Jack and Aunt Faith! RIP. CARLTONS
