Margaret Fornes

Margaret Fornes Margaret Mary (Kelly) Fornes, 98, died peacefully at Elim Care Center on Saturday, August 25, 2007. Margaret was born on March 15, 1909 in Argusville, ND to Joseph and Alvina (Anderson) Kelly. She attended school in her early years in Argusville and later graduated from Sacred Heart Academy in Fargo. Margaret married John A. Fornes on March 29, 1937. Together they worked on the Dalrymple Farm near Casselton for 22 years until his death on May 28, 1960. She then moved to Fargo where she has lived since. They had two children, John of Fargo and Margaret Mary who died in infancy. Margaret loved her family and enjoyed spending time with them more than anything. She spent a lot of time doing crossword puzzles, crocheting, and talking multiple times a day to her beloved sister. She had an incredible sweet tooth and her family enjoyed the rewards of her many wonderful treats. Above all, Margaret had a deep faith and was devoted to praying the rosary regularly. She was a wonderful mother, grandmother, and great grandmother, and her family will miss her deeply. Margaret is survived by her dedicated son John and loving daughter-in-law Mary of Fargo; granddaughters, Ann (Jeff) Van Wie of Norcross, GA and Susan (Mitchell) Hanson of Fargo; grandson, Tim (Gina) of Norcross, GA. She has four beautiful great grandchildren that she adored, Mackenzie and Madison Hanson of Fargo and Andrew and Lauren Van Wie of Norcross, GA. She is also survived by her loving sister, Catherine Libbrecht of Battle Lake, MN. Margaret was preceded in death by her husband John, infant daughter, Margaret Ann, her parents, Joseph and Alvina Kelly, and six brothers, Jim, Jack, William, Ray, Irving, and Dick. We would like to express a special thanks to all her family for their many wonderful visits. Also to the Elim Care Center staff for all they did for her during her last few years.
