Margaret "Mugs" Blanchard

Margaret ?Mugs? Blanchard, 77, Lake Park, MN, passed away at her home on Thursday, February 22, 2007 under the care of Hospice of the Red River Valley.
Margaret ?Mugs? Blanchard was born to Luella and Theodore Narveson on March 5, 1929 in Kindred, North Dakota. She grew up in the Kindred, ND area and graduated from Kindred High School in 1947. She then attended St. John?s School of Nursing at St. John?s Hospital, Fargo from which she received her RN in 1950. Don Blanchard and Margaret ?Mugs? Narveson were united in marriage at St. Leo?s Church, Minot, ND on June 17, 1950. She worked in the pediatric department at St. Joseph?s Hospital, Minot, ND until moving to the Operating Room. department where she became the O.R. supervisor. In 1979 she went to work for Dr. Hurley in Minot and also taught classes at Minot State University. They lived in Minot from 1950 until 1980 when they moved to Sioux Falls, SD where she worked in the O.R. at Sioux Valley Hospital until moving to the Same Day Surgery unit at Sioux Valley Hospital. Margaret ?Mugs? Blanchard retired in 1986. They moved to Lake Ida, MN in March of 1987.
She was preceded in death by her: parents, Luella and Theodore Narveson; infant son, William; 2 sisters, Ruth Billehus and Alice Alderman; 1 brother, Haakon Narveson

The Funeral will be at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, February 27, 2007 at St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church, Lake Park, MN. There will be a Prayer Service in the church at 7:00 p.m. Monday with visitation in the church from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. Monday and one hour before the funeral on Tuesday. Burial will be at Holy Cross North Cemetery, Fargo.
