Marion Armstrong, 90 of Fargo, ND died Wednesday, April 5, 2006 at Innovis Health in Fargo. Marion Rau was born on January 8, 1916 in Nokay Township, Minnesota to Henry and Anna (Olson) Rau. She lived on the family farm until her graduation from Brainerd High School in 1934. She worked at various jobs in Brainerd including Leviss= Soda Grill and the Gustafson Machine Shop, where she was a machinist during WWII making airplane bolts. She married Joseph C. Armstrong on February 1, 1942. After Joseph returned from the war, they moved to Thompson, ND where they lived for several years. They also lived in Williston, Jamestown and Ellendale before moving to Fargo. Marion has been an active member of Church of the Holy Spirit in Fargo, where she has served on many committees and as a volunteer at Holy Spirit Parochial School. For several years she worked as a cashier at Fargo North High School. Marion enjoyed gardening, sewing, and embroidery. She especially loved attending family reunions. Marion was preceded in death by her husband, Joseph; her parents; her siblings, Merle, Harvey, Doris, Melvin, Dennis and Robert. Marion is survived by her daughters, Kathy (Warren) Swenson of Fargo, Mary (Carl) Schumaker of Concord, CA; sisters, Barbara (Don) Wilson of Kennewick, WA, Janet (Raymond) Perchalski of Kennewick, WA; brothers, Russel (Melba) Rau of Martinez, CA, Gerald (Lila) Rau of Everett, WA, and Roland Rau of Rosebud, MT.
