Mark Robert Heiser of Fargo, North Dakota passed away on September 13, 2022, while at a worksite outside of Bismarck, North Dakota at the age of 60.

Mark was born on July 20, 1962, in Dickinson, North Dakota. He was the youngest of seven children of Marcus Heiser and Clara (Germann) Heiser and was raised on a farm outside of Manning. Mark graduated from Kildeer High School in 1980. Mark attended the North Dakota State College of Science in Wahpeton earning an Associate in Applied Science degree in Electronic Technology in 1982 and an Associate in Applied Science degree in Electronic Servicing Technology in 1983.

Mark began his career repairing televisions north of Fargo and then worked installing satellite dishes in the Bismarck area. He then moved to Fargo where he has worked as an electrical engineer for Prairie Public managing and maintaining transmission services.

Mark’s hobbies and pastimes included computer gaming, fishing, photography, softball, bowling and visiting with family and friends. Mark was always ready to help neighbors and family with repairs and building projects. He had the tools and if he had the time he was there to help. He often travelled to great distances to help nieces and nephews with their projects. At his job, he was the tallest person in the building and often considered the one with the biggest heart. Mark attended church at both Holy Cross and Blessed Sacrament Catholic Churches.

He is survived by five siblings: Barbara Caldwell (Harvey) of Casa Grande, Arizona; Joseph Heiser (Charlotte) of Wilton, North Dakota; Laureen Jun of Otoe, Nebraska; Rita Cronholm (Gregory) of Plainview, Texas; and Annette Sorenson (Matthew) of Herndon, Virginia, and his sister-in-law, Shari Heiser. 1. Mark Heiser and I were Twin Brothers from different Mothers! Mark and I were born on the same Day, same Year! We went to NDSCS at the same time, and were in the same Electronics division, and classes together. We both found our career jobs in Fargo, and celebrated our Birthday Dinners together at the Old Broadway Monday night of your Birthday! We worked together on Prairie Public / NDSU Microwave projects together. We even went to the same Barber! Pattie, our Barber laughed when she herd all the similarities we shared! He was a great help to me when I had to clean out my parents place, and the projects at his next door Neighbor Tim’s, who is my Brother-in-law! I will miss having Mark around as a Wonderful Friend! My Condolences to all of Marks Family. He was a Great Guy!

  2. I met Mark when I moved back from California to Fargo in September, 2001 and moved into the twinhome attached to his.
So I knew him for about 21 years. Mark was the nicest guy, always helping out me or other neighbors when we needed it, or loaning us tools. Among the many projects he helped me with were helping pour and finish 2 concrete slabs for my garden shed and the 3rd lane of my driveway, and installing my new garage door opener. He could build or fix just about anything, I think in large part due to his background growing up on a farm. About 6 or 8 years ago, we had a good day of fishing on Lake Ashtabula north of Valley City. We each caught 1 or 2 fish of 3 or 4 different species (walleye, northern, bass, crappie, etc., probably 10 or 12 fish total) and then later while we were trolling just before we left for home, he caught about a 6-7 pound northern – he seemed pretty excited about that! And as David mentioned, he and Mark reconnected when David was over visiting me in 2001 or 2002, and that’s when they found out they were twin brothers from different Mothers. I will definitely miss Mark … it still just seems so surreal that he is gone, and gone much too soon! My deepest condolences to Mark’s family, friends, and co-workers. And I’m glad I got to meet or get reacquainted with and talk to some of his family.

  3. A Classmate, a friend, many visits after mass at Holy Cross Catholic Church in West Fargo. Mark was looking forward to retirement. Now will be spending his retirement in heaven. Gone too soon. So sorry for the loss of Mark.

  4. Mark was an amazing uncle. He loved his family and friends with all his heart. He was one of those men who would go out of his way to make sure you were ok, and to help if help was needed. He will be greatly missed. Until we meet again.

  5. Sorry for your loss is what Most people say.
Truly, it should be, sorry for our loss 😒🙏🏻.
I’m glad that I was able to visit with my cousin Mark, in the summer of 2019.
