Mark D. Simenson passed away on Tuesday, April 16, 2019 at Sanford Hospital due to diabetic complications. He was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer in September 2018. Mark was born on August 21, 1953 in Fargo, ND to Donald and Phyllis (Thoen) Simenson. He grew up in Horace, ND and graduated from West Fargo High School in 1971. Throughout most of his life, Mark worked in trucking and was able to travel all over the country. Mark was an avid sports fan and loved watching any and all sports. He was a lifelong Bison football fan and followed the NDSU Bison football team as a member of the Road Warriors for many years. He also enjoyed hunting, fishing, playing cards, tailgating, relaxing at the lake and spending time with friends and family. He was a beloved son, brother, uncle, nephew and friend to many. Mark had a heart of gold and will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him. Mark is survived by his mother, Phyllis, Fargo, ND; brothers, Dale (Barb), Mapleton, ND, Scot (Kaye) Fargo, ND; sister, Mary, Fargo, ND, brother-in-law Curt Egge, Meza, AZ, and nieces, Angela (Derek) Wanzek, Lindsey, Abby, nephews, Jason (Taylor) Simenson, Matthew (Sadie), aunts uncles and cousins. He was preceded in death by his father, Donald Simenson and sister, Lisa Egge. Visitation will be from 10a.m. – 11a.m., followed by the memorial service at 11 a.m., Tuesday, April 23, 2019 at Messiah Lutheran Church in Fargo. Dress in casual clothes and feel free to wear your favorite Bison shirt.

  12. Growing up with Mark in Horace , I. always admired his attitude and his out look on life. About 18-20 years ago I ran into Mark at the bowling alley in West Fargo, my brother Art pointed Mark out to me so I went over to chat . He asked if I was Larry, I told him I was the other
    Larry. We had a good laugh over that one. He was a good man , God Bless

    Goodbye and see you later sir. You were there for me whenever I needed. I’ll miss the check-ins and the hope all is well calls. You taught me so much in my life. From the first family xmas you spent to the last NFL game we watched together, you were my friend and I will miss having you in my life.
    But, it is a see you later. Why? Because I know you will be my side until we see each other again.
