Mark T. Gasing

October 26, 1964 ~ January 31, 2025
Mark Thomas Gasing (known as Wilson or Willy by his friends) was born on October 26, 1964, to Sam and Joyce Gasing in Yuma, Arizona.
Mark was a very active and inquisitive boy. He seemed to always be moving and getting into “situations”. One of his favorite things to do was ride and drive any type of vehicle, whether it be a tricycle or the family car. He learned how to “pop” the clutch on the family station wagon and once it cruised down the driveway into the neighbor’s yard; another time it crashed into a closed garage door with him and his toddler cousin inside; and another time the vehicle started to roll down another driveway with his two sisters and himself inside. Luckily his oldest sister was able to jump out and notify mom!
Mark made friends easily and was always in the middle of the action. He required patching up numerous times! He suffered a severe fracture in his leg when he was 9 years old. It took over a year for him to recover.
He graduated from Wolf Point High School in Wolf Point, Montana while attending Job Corps. He returned to Fargo where he worked as a welder having earned several trade certificates. Mark was instrumental in the creation of the Gazebo on Main Avenue in front of the Northern Pacific Railway Depot. Mark took great pride in his work.
Mark had a deep interest in racing of all kinds. He had many friends in the racing community. He also loved fishing in any format, but probably ice fishing was his favorite. He loved bowling and golf also. He participated in numerous tournaments throughout his life and did very well.
Mark was very knowledgeable on several topics having been self-taught most things. He figured things out.
Mark worked as an over-the-road truck driver, farmhand, and mechanic. He retired due to disability from Richards Farm, Moorhead after 15 years as shop mechanic and wherever else he was needed. He loved working on the farm and looking after his dogs Mulley and Ira and the shop cats. Mark had a very soft heart when it came to animals.
Mark had a great sense of humor. He was a good and compassionate friend. He was the best brother.
Mark was preceded in death by his parents, his maternal and paternal grandparents and his aunts and uncles. He is survived by his sisters Gregg (Rick) Eberhart, West Fargo, ND; Jacqueline Gruber, Charlotte, NC; and Tracy Dillon, Fargo, ND; niece Stefanie, (Anthony) Berger and great-niece Oliviana Berger, Horace ND; nephews Kirby Plante, CA; Alex Plante, Brandon (Alli Law) Plante and great-nephew Ollie Plante all of Fargo, ND.
A special thanks to the Richards family for their care of Mark and all that they did for him.
