Marlene M. Woodbury, 90, Bismarck, N.D., died Sunday, Aug. 6, in Baptist Health & Rehab.

Marlene (Long) Woodbury, 90, Bismarck ND, formally from Page, ND passed away peacefully (August 6, 2023) at Baptist Health in Bismarck, ND surrounded by family.

Marlene was born October 18, 1932 to Joseph and Evelyn Long in their home in Page, ND. She was one of six children and grew up and lived most of her life in Page. Marlene married Donald (Woody) Woodbury on November 20, 1949. They had six children, Scott, Kathy, David, Donald Jr., Mark, and Robert. Marlene was also blessed with 15 grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren.

Marlene and Woody remained in Page where they owned and operated Woody’s Bar for almost 50 years. Many happy memories were made over the generations at Woody’s Bar. Marlene especially liked the Annual New Year’s Eve Party and when the sports crowd would stop in for a cold one or two after a Page Panthers victory.

Marlene was a member of the St. James Catholic Church in Page and was very active with the Christian Mothers groups and their famous annual Church Supper. Marlene and Woody retired and sold Woody’s Bar in 1994. Marlene needed to stay busy, so she became the substitute and weekend Postmaster for the Page Post Office. She moved to Fargo, ND in 2011 to be closer to her children, until her battle with dementia became worse and she moved to Bismarck, ND in 2019.

Marlene was preceded in death by her parents, Joe and Evelyn Long, her husband Donald (Woody) her son Scott, her brother Donnie (Red) Long, and her sister JoAnn Rueckert. She is survived by children, Kathy (Keith), David, Donald Jr. (Kaylee), Mark (Lisa), and Robert (Karen); brothers Joe Jr., and Kim, and her sister Claudia.

Visitation will be from 9-10 a.m., followed by a funeral at 10 a.m., Saturday, Aug. 12, at Boulger Funeral Home and Celebration of Life Center in Fargo, N.D. Burial will be in Page, N.D.
