Marlys Greendahl

Marlys L. Greendahl, 86, Grand Forks, ND, died Tuesday, March 3, 2020 at Valley Senior Living Center on 42nd, Grand Forks, ND with her daughters by her side.
Marlys Lucille Hanson was born on October 15, 1933 in Erskine, MN to Gilbert & Agnes (Peterson) Hanson. She attended and graduated school in Erskine, MN.
Throughout her life Marlys impacted the lives of many people with disabilities by providing adult foster care in her home for over forty years.
She raised her daughters Debra, Stacy and Tricia in Grand Forks, ND. In 2003 she moved to Fargo, ND where she continued to provide adult foster care until she was 80 years old.
Marlys is survived by her daughters, Stacy (Michael) Welsh, Tricia (Paul) Asche; grandchildren, Brandon (Ericka) Welsh, Brody Welsh, Piper Welsh, Payton Asche, Hudson Asche; step-grandchildren Justin (Rachel) Welsh, Katie Welsh; and many great grandchildren; sister, Delores Fladhammer; and many nieces and nephews.
Marlys was preceded in death by her parents, brothers Oris, Marian and Belvin, daughter Debra Greendahl and grandson Patrick Welsh.

There are special people in our lives that never leave us even after they are gone. Marlys is gone but will never be forgotten.
Stacy and Tricia-What a great picture of your Mom. My thoughts and prayers are with you and families at this time. I know you heart aches for her. I know that feeling loosing both my mom and dad. But I do know they are looking down on us from heaven. May she be at Peace now. Sue Hancock
My sympathy to you girls. Marlys was so good to my sister Karen. which was very comforting to me.they now can be together again in heaven.
I will always have a special place in my heart for Marlys. She provided beyond exceptional care for my Aunt Karen for many many years. Karen was well taken care of as she was treated like she was family. Marlys May you Rest In Peace in the beloved arms of our Lord. Our thoughts and prayers are with Tricia, Stacey, and families.

Tricia and Stacy~ I used to work for REM and helped take care of your sister Debbie. I met your mom got to visit many many times when she came to see Debbie. My sympathies to you both.
So sorry to see your mothers passing. Maryls was a loving, kind person and a great neighbor. Your family will miss her. Memories will last forever
