Marvel W. Steinweg, 96, Davenport, ND passed away on Monday, May 1, 2017 at Sheyenne Crossings Care Center in West Fargo. Marvel Winnifred Kellerman was born to Fred and Hilda (Gohdes) Kellerman on July 18, 1920 in rural Davenport, ND. She grew up on the family farm and attended school District 30 at Kindred, ND. Marvel was a tomboy and loved to work outside with her brothers and play baseball. Following school Marvel worked at home on the farm. On December 18, 1941 Marvel was united in marriage to Clarence Steinweg at Canaan Moravian Church. They lived on the Steinweg homestead before moving to the Davenport farmstead a few years later. She was active in her church, president of Canaan Women’s Fellowship, served in PTA, Davenport Women’s Fire Department Auxiliary, and President of the Davenport Senior Citizens. She enjoyed supporting the school activities, sports, and drama and was a faithful car driver for boys and girls basketball. Everyone enjoyed her fresh baked bread and peach cobbler, especially during harvest. Her favorite hobby was playing Bingo. She had a competitive side playing Bingo and racing her grandsons down the hallway at Sheyenne Crossings in her scooter. Marvel had a great sense of humor and loved laughing. Memories Timeline

  1. Karen,Julie and Darla sorry to about Marvel passing my thought and prayers are with you.

  2. I’m so very sorry for your loss. I have no doubt that God will remember her and keep her memory safe. He will surely be glad to bring her back to life in a perfect world when suffering will be no more and we will all welcome back our loved ones that are asleep in death. (Revelation 21:4 & John 5:28, 29) May our loving Father bring your family the peace and comfort only He can provide.

  3. Marvel was close with my mother Joyce Steinway Kruger. They were cousins. My grandfather was Wilhelm Fredrick Steinway, cousins with Clarence Steinweg.

I never knew her, but I wanted to send my condolences to the family and say God bless you, Karen, and the family.

  4. God bless you and give you peace. Thinking of all of you and remembering the “good old days” when we believed life was always good and days were filled with sunshine. It brings a smile to recall when Clarence & Marvel, his sister Juletta & Elder Trom (my parents) would get together while us cousins would play.
Goodness, it is remarkable to realize the things Marvel has seen in her long life. She loved each of you.

I am sorry I will not be with you during this time. Just know prayers for healing peace surround you.
