Mary Ruth Bond, 77, Walcott, ND passed away Sunday, April 3, 2022 at Sanford Health, Fargo. Mary Ruth Bond was born on June 8, 1944, near McAllen, TX to George and Marie Bond. She graduated from PSGA high school in 1962. She went on to attend South Texas Bible College in Dallas, TX and Detroit Lakes, MN where she graduated with a degree in Graphic Design. Mary married Darlan Fatland in 1985. They met at a Christian Single Hayride and made their loving home in Walcott, ND. She loved traveling, photography, camping, and spending time in her garden. Her favorite location she liked to travel to was Teddy Roosevelt National Park. She enjoyed being outdoors, picking asparagus, and 4-wheeling with her grandson (getting stuck mudding) was what she enjoyed the most. Every year she would make a trip to Rollag to the Western Minnesota Steam Threshers reunion. She belonged to Calvary Baptist Church in Fargo where she sang in the choir and was the secretary. She was also a member of the Faith Evangelical Free Church of Wolverton, MN. She loved to sing, play the piano, and play the ukulele. One of her special times was when she was talking with President Bush and thanked him for bringing honesty and integrity back into the White House. Mary was very passionate about her faith in Jesus and was very devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and aunt. She was loved and respected by many friends and family who knew her. She was also involved with the Walcott Cub Scouts, Walcott Park Board, and operated the Little Crooked House Craft Shop in Walcott. She also did daycare for family members. She was tremendously good with children and loved animals, especially her favorite cat. Blackie. She will be sadly missed by her husband Darlan; her two sons, Charlie Cummings of Tampa, FL and Kenneth (Brooke Bladow) of Walcott, ND. Grandson Joseph Fatland and granddaughter Paisley Fatland. Her brother Dennis Bond, of Oklahoma City, OK. Sister-in-law Kimberly Bond of McAllen, TX. Brother-in-law, Dean Fatland of Fargo, ND and sister’s in law Darlene Hanson of Pueblo, CO, and Eddy Fatland of Minneapolis, MN, Cindy Erickson, Hankinson, ND and many nieces, nephews and extended family members. Mary was preceded in death by her parents, daughter Robin Cummings. Brother Robert Bond and brothers-in-law, Donald (Frances) Fatland, Duane (Martha) Fatland, Darwin Fatland, Dennis Fatland, Sylvia Fatland and Arnold Hanson. A Celebration of Life Service for Mary is scheduled for Saturday, April 9th, 2022, at Boulger Funeral Home, Fargo ND starting at 2:00 pm. Mary's Video Tribute can be viewed below:

  6. My deepest sympathies to Mary’s family. We spent a lot of time together as we encouraged and guided Kenny and Josh through Cub Scouts and school. Mary was a strong person and I loved her laugh. Mary was a true disciple of Jesus. Blessed be Mary’s memory.
