Mary passed away on Friday, July 28, 2023, at Sanford Hospital in Fargo, at the age of 71.

Mary Lou Erck was born March 17, 1952, in Maddock, ND, the daughter of Daniel and Magdalena (Gisi) Erck. Mary Lou grew up in Isabel Township, on a farm northeast of Esmond, ND. She went to school in Knox, ND, and later attended the evaluation training center in Fargo, ND. Mary Lou participated in the Special Olympics and worked as a supervisor at the West Dining Center at NDSU. She enjoyed being around people and had the gift of gab. Mary Lou was united in marriage to Orlin Finneseth in August of 2013 in Fargo. She enjoyed time with family and friends and with her beloved husband, Orlin.

She will be greatly missed for her smile, kindness, and generosity.

Mary Lou is survived by her husband of 10 years, her sisters – Dorothy (David) Schlenkert of Sebring, FL; Elaine Erck of Howell, MI; Carol (Tim) Finley of Oberon, ND; Becky (Lester) Dockter of Stanton, ND; and Jacqueline Erck of Fargo, ND; and her brother, Jeffrey Erck Sr. of Devils Lake, ND. Also surviving are her aunt, Martha Seibel of Lincoln, ND; her stepdaughter, Pamela Coon of Fargo, ND; her stepson, John (Susan) Finneseth; and step-granddaughters – Amber, Kaylee, Morgan, and Madison Finneseth; her sisters-in-law, Carol Finneseth, Gladys Boomersbach, Marilyn Christianson; and 13 nieces and nephews.

Mary Lou was preceded in death by her parents; her niece, Tina Schlenkert; her great-nephew, Jacob Rinz; her brother-in-law, Thelmer Finneseth; her stepson, Jeffrey Finneseth; her step-granddaughter, Hailey Coon; and brothers-in-law, Mike Bommersbach and Brado Christianson and many other very dear cousins and family members.

VISITATION: 5-7 PM Friday, August 4, 2023, at Boulger Funeral Home in Fargo – and also one hour prior to the funeral in the church on Saturday

PRAYER SERVICE: 7 PM Friday at Boulger Funeral Home in Fargo

FUNERAL MASS: 10 AM Saturday, August 5, 2023, at Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church in West Fargo (live streamed on the funeral home website for those unable to attend)

BURIAL: 4:00 PM Saturday, August 5, 2023, at St. Boniface Catholic Cemetery in Esmond, ND
