Mary Judith Jacobs

At the age of 80, Mary Judith Jacobs passed away peacefully in her sleep on November 1st, 2026. Born in Jamestown, ND, on September 8th, 1946, to Oscar and Louise Hagen. Mary grew up near Jamestown, ND. While finishing her schooling till only the 8th grade, Mary went on to get her GED. Throughout the years, Mary worked at various food establishments, including the Fargo Country Club, for years. She had a daughter, Julie, in April of 1964. Then, she married Kenneth Jacobs in 1968, who she went on to spend 13 years with. Later, Ken and Mary had another daughter, Theresa in September of 1969 and a son, Ken Jr, in July of 1972.

Mary moved on to working at NDSU as a custodian in 1992. She continued working there with her daughter Julie until she retired in 2005. Mary spent years living in Medina, Jamestown, West Fargo, Fargo, Moorhead, and eventually moving back to Fargo finishing out her years at St. Catherine’s nursing home.

Mary loved spending her Friday nights taking her grand kids to Take 2 Video and getting movies and snacks for the sleepover. When she was feeling real fancy, she’d head over to Blockbuster. And, later, spending time with her honorary granddaughter Chloe. She loved making homemade potato dumplings and baking goodies for her family to enjoy every holiday. Mary spent a lot of her free time playing bingo at Big Top Bingo and taking the bus to the casino when she got the chance. In her later years she enjoyed playing bingo at the nursing home with her great granddaughter, Harley. She absolutely loved seeing her kids, grand kids, great grand kids, and old friends when they’d come to visit… Even when she seemed kind of grumpy. Mary also loved coloring her hair purple in her later years.

Mary was proceeded in death by her parents Louise and Oscar Hagen, sisters Rose Renner and Pat Vice, brothers Andy and Alvin Hagen, Brother in laws Donald Eckart and Tom Vice, sister-in-law Darlene Hagen, and granddaughter Faith Allen Kukert.

Mary is lovingly survived by her children Julie (John) Jensen of Fargo, ND, Ken Jr (Rachel) Jacobs of West Fargo, ND, Theresa Jacobs of Porter, MN, her sister Betty Eckart, her grandchildren Anthony Jensen, Matthew Jacobs, Kari (Adam) Denn, Eric Kukert, Zachary Larson, Kristina Jensen, Nicholas (Danielle) Kukert, Dylan Geringer, and Dale Munson. Also, numerous great grandchildren and nieces and nephews. Special friends Dawn and Chloe Ahrens.
