Mary Louise Lageson, 71, of Kindred, North Dakota, passed away peacefully at St. Catherine’s on January 28, 2025, surrounded by the love of her family.
Born November 29, 1953, in Minneapolis, Minnesota, Mary was the daughter of John and Loretta Ziegler. She grew up in Indiana and Minnesota.
Mary married in 1972 and had three sons, Chad, David, and Joshua. In 1983 she married Mark Lageson and had a son Mark, stepdaughter Sabrara, and stepson Peter. They moved to Montana where she lived the best years of her life. She was a mother not only to her own children but many others she opened her house and heart to. She worked at the Whitewater public school and owned the North 40 bar. In 2006 she moved to Kindred, ND. She lived in Kindred with her partner Randy and their 2 cats. She worked at the Kindred public school and Dewey’s Bar and grill.
Mary enjoyed woodworking, crafting, and photography. She loved capturing nature’s beauty, her grandchildren’s sporting events, and pretty much any activity her family was doing. Her boys and her grandchildren were her pride and joy, any time spent with them she cherished. She was always up for a good adventure snowmobiling, horseback riding, tubing on the lake, anything her boys or grandchildren were into she was too.
She is survived by her children Chad (Joy) Staton, Josh (Rachelle) Staton, David (Mandy) Staton, Mark Lageson, Sabrara (Keith) Evenson, and Pete Lageson, her siblings Gail (Jim) Sorenson, Judy Doble, John (Tony) Ziegler, Dave Ziegler, her 14 grandchildren and her 3 great-grandchildren.
She is preceded in death by her parents, brothers Larry and Jerry, sister Pam, niece Missy and grandparents.
A service and celebration of life will take place later this Spring in Whitewater, MT where Mary will be laid to rest with her beloved parents.
