Mary Lambert

mary lambert

Mary Lambert, age 64, passed away on Sunday, February 27, 2011 at Sanford Hospital in Fargo surrounded by her loving family.

Mary Burtzlaff was born on January 5, 1947, the daughter of Albert and Cecilia (Berschens) Burtzlaff in Stillwater, MN. She grew up in Stillwater, attended St. Mary's Grade School and graduated from Stillwater High School. She later attended IBM Business College in Minneapolis. Mary was united in marriage to Charles Lambert on September 26, 1970 at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Stillwater. Following their marriage they moved to Forest Lake, MN, Eau Claire, WI, and to Fargo, ND in 1976. They made their home in Fargo where they raised their family. Most of all, Mary was a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother. She loved spending time with her family and also having tea with friends. She worked part time at various businesses in Fargo after her children grew older, and was active at her church where she served on the parish council and the ladies guild. She will be remembered by many for her laughter, courage, and strength she showed throughout her life, especially in the past few years as her health declined.

Mary's survived by her husband, Charles "Chuck" Lambert of Fargo; her three daughters, Anne (Benjamin) Norris of Moorhead, MN; Amy (Walter) White of North Bend, OR; and Jennifer (Steve Rudolph) Lambert of Fargo; and her five beloved grandchildren - Caleb, Corbin, Aliyah, Makenzie, and Ava Grace. She is also survived by her mother, Cecilia Burtzlaff of Stillwater; her twin sister, Margaret (Gary) Swanson of Shafer, MN; her brother, William (Sandy) Burtzlaff of Stillwater; and many nieces, nephews, and other dear relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her father, Albert.

Chuck and family of Mary-I was very saddened to read that Mary had died. She had the most warm and wonderful smile! I remember Jim and I playing cards at the Lambert house and Mary’s girls babysitting my girls. She had a marvelous love of family and I know every memory she ever created will live on in your hearts and that will keep her close to you forever. Keeping you all in my prayers and wishing you comfort in days ahead.

  8. Osage MN
To Mary’s family: None of you know me and I spent just a brief period with Mary, but she has always stayed with me in spirit. Our family moved to North Fargo and had to switch parishes. When we joined Holy Spirit, Mary approached me and asked me to join the guild, which I did and I have NEVER been made to feel so welcome. It is like we practically became “family” in that short period of time. I thank God for the memory and times I spent with Mary and I ask God to comfort you at this most difficult time, and may her wonderful memories give you peace.
