Mary Paulette Gaffney

Mary Paulette Paulie Gaffney, 81, passed away on Monday, August 3, 2026, at New Perspective Memory Care. Mary was born on June 10, 1945, in Jamestown, North Dakota, to Donald J. Gaffney and Lucille H. (Sauer) Gaffney. As a young child, she lived in the Lake Park, Audubon, and Rollag, Minnesota, area before her family eventually settled in Fargo, North Dakota. She attended St. Marys Catholic School, Ben Franklin Junior High School, and graduated from Fargo Central High School in 1963. She later graduated from Interstate Business College and held a variety of clerical positions throughout the Fargo area during her career. Mary retired from Fargo Truss after 25 years of dedicated service. Mary was preceded in death by her parents, Donald and Lucille Gaffney; her brothers, Richard, Patrick, and John Gaffney; her sister, Kathy Helgeson; and her foster sister, Barb. She is survived by her sisters, Cecelia Piper of Shakopee, Minnesota, and Jennifer (Roger) Stein of Fargo, North Dakota. She is also survived by many nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews, cousins, and friends. The family extends their deepest gratitude to Ethos Hospice and New Perspective of West Fargo Memory Care Unit for the compassionate and extraordinary care they provided for Mary. In accordance with Marys wishes, no services will be held. She will be laid to rest at Sacred Heart Cemetery in Sanborn, North Dakota.
